Tom: I know for you teasing is a sign of friendliness and affection not hostility, and that it's frustrating and hurtful when someone mistakes the intention and and gets jagged all the time, but you do after all also know — because he's been so courageous and honest about it recently — why Graham isn't yet as confident and at ease with those particular dimensions of friendliness as you're used to.

Graham: there was *no* criticism intended in Tom's question, it was a query related to an immediate problem. It's quite hard from the outside, especially when you're not any kind of expert at this kind of stuff, and none of are expert the way you're expert — and have been distracted from things by work or being away — to keep track of everything that eventually got decided, and coded. Partly because you've done such a huge job so successfully.
