not gonna lie, the main reason I posted this was because of the conversation a couple of weeks ago on the Fun. vs Gotye thread about how some ILXors love Mandy Moore and it cracked me up to see her on this list disavowing the two albums ppl were enthusing over

nobody was enthusing about those albums; barely anyone was enthusing about her music

i mean, 2 people enthused about a single from one of those albums, but still

ilm was fucking CRAZY for 'candy' back in the day

I'd make the obvious argument that the song isn't spoofing NO so much as the lyrical conventions of musical theater, but the song is defensible solely on the grounds of being hilarious to begin with.

OTOH Brazil got a Simpsons-apology too but that was more deserved, if only because the episode sucked

I see that the "creator" that apologized for that Simpsons episode (really just one song) was the Fox network, not Matt Groening. Weak inclusion.
