"Poster promoting education and civic activity, showing two columns of penguins, six on the left, eight on the right."
so much of the WPA + wartime propaganda + russian constructivist aesthetic has been copped for modern design. that would be an interesting thread on its own, posting pictures of like hipster vodka labels with fake cyrillic writing in red and black.

It's pretty easy to be like "lol syphilis" looking through these, but this one is amazing –– beautiful design and it really hits home for me just how revolutionary and beneficial a cure for it was.

Okay, I think that one's my favourite. But I do have an inordinate love for protective eyewear.

I'm not going to lie, my first impulse with about half of these is "where is the nearest tattoo artist?"
Not a great scan, but this is one of my favorites:

Yeah, LOC propaganda/etc. is legal for personal use (at a minimum - it might be public domain all the way around), but you may have a hard time getting them printed large if you want more than home-inkjet size.I went through several and spotted them dust/scratches and tried to get them to look more like they did new (quickie LOC scans are dirty and low contrast) - then had Costco give me a bunch of shit for trying to get them printed at poster size. Even with printouts of the LOC page showing that they weren't copyrighted by anyone - and one I tried to get printed was a Civil War map of Gettysburg.
