Mail is the BEST THING EVER! Especially envelopes stuffed with random loveliness! Rainy Mcmaster and Spectra need a parade held in their honour for this very reason. With streamers! and those little popper things that smell like gunpowder!

I've started keeping all the letters i get in one drawer of my dressing table, though already i'm having trouble closing it, it's so full. Only, every time i go to re-organise or tidy it, i end up finding a letter or photo or whatev and staring moonishly at it for hours instead. It's tangible and tactile and that's what makes it so damn cool.

sorry i'm not doing that anymore. I'll explain later 'cause I have to go to hell(work) now...I just don't sort of want to do anything kind of so overt/organised; it makes me feel silly, or something. Or I feel like it's a bit lowly and dumb, like if I did something like that maybe it could only (for me) be more of a structured mail art thing. But yes I still like giving and getting real letters. things I have gotten from ILX posters via amazon: a gamelan cd, the recognitions, heidegger's introduction to metaphysics, charles mingus's autobiography, the prefuse 73 album, a renaissance music comp, the chronic.

things I have gotten from ILX posters unmediated by amazon: comics and drawings, a guess-the-songs mixtape, a mixtape packaged with among other things an action figure and a noise complaint letter, a postcard, a tape of the church of john coltrane's radio show, disco inferno cdrs, and a copy of ghost world.

I think I'm forgetting something but I figure that's pretty good off the top of my head.

somehow I sense that wittgenstein's culture and value should be on that list too, the received one.

today I think letters are the best though, out of anything I could get. envelopes full of drawings or KEEP AWAY FROM POST OFFICE MAGNET warnings and stickers on the outside are a fine substitute.

I always cut my own fringe. Except one time when we were all v v v drunk and a friend had those wonky scissors on her swiss army knife wotsit and decided i needed a trim.
