I loved watching the Liquid News presenter squirm last night as Suede [rightly] replied "idunno" to "Will he work again?" and other stupid things to ask Suede. Twas hilarious.

I haven't been paying that much attention - I thought he had only been found guilty of being gay, and probably doing some drugs as well. Being gay surely shouldn't affect a career like his (and didn't seem to be hurting), and don't tell me there are many TV stars who've never been near a line of coke. Is he in any substantial way implicated in the death?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 17:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think anyone knows but everyone seems to have turned on him anyway.

four years pass...

Isn't he 55? Therefore is it him who has been arrested?

um, innocent until proven guilty?

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:54 (eighteen years ago)

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:55 (eighteen years ago)

George Galloway vindicated at last.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:55 (eighteen years ago)

I think this is speculation about his arrest, not his guilt.

Mark G, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:57 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, I'm not saying he's guilty of anything, just that it looks like he's been arrested.

The police are playing about here surely, they know by saying his age and the fact that he's male that anyone with an interest is immediately going to think it's him.

Ned Trifle II, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

Unlike the original posts on this thread 5 years ago.

Ned Trifle II, Thursday, 14 June 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

Sky are reporting it is Barrymore.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 14 June 2007 10:10 (eighteen years ago)

but not the beeb:
Essex Police gave no further details at this stage but said the men were aged 37, 32 and 55.

Police did not name the men arrested and would not say if Mr Barrymore, who is 55, was among them.

Mark G, Thursday, 14 June 2007 10:31 (eighteen years ago)

News 24's ticker says Barrymore has been arrested for suspected murder of Stuart Lubbock.

Billy Dods, Thursday, 14 June 2007 10:34 (eighteen years ago)

And one of the blokes.

If the third one gets released, it'll all have been a gigantic waste of time.
