am0n, the road to nowhere (cozen), Friday, 13 July 2012 21:29 (twelve years ago)

he moves around, usually starts snuggled against my belly, then sometime between when i fall asleep and wake up he moves so that he's behind my knees, using the back of my legs as a pillow

occasionally he uses my head as a pillow too

the late great, Friday, 13 July 2012 21:29 (twelve years ago)

the only way to dissuade him from sleeping under the covers is to throw on another layer of covers and let him go into that middle layer (works well in the winter) but he almost always ends up behind my knees

i found him - he was a lost stray - on a trip where i was sleeping in a tent, and that's how he spent the first night in the tent with me (behind my knees) and i've never been able to train him out of it

Foot of the bed, but she usually starts or tucked between us. Voted foot cause I figure that the fact that that's where she ends up indicates her preference.

yeah if the lady is with me he has to sleep so that he's barely touching both of us. probably the cutest things dogs ever do.

the late great, Friday, 13 July 2012 21:54 (twelve years ago)

My doggy sleeps on a combination of my head and my feet (basically on my chest/stomach/legs), but I feel like answering feet implies that she's not obnoxiously (cutely) scrunched into/smushed against me/my wife (which she is) so I am voting head.

Usually on a dog bed outside our bedroom, but sometimes on the living room couch or in my wife's study. We keep all the animals out of our bedroom.

Neil Jung (WmC), Friday, 13 July 2012 22:27 (twelve years ago)

oh man i wish my heart were as cold and stony as yours

i have to vacuum the bed pretty much every day

the late great, Friday, 13 July 2012 22:38 (twelve years ago)

They sleep well, we sleep well, everybody says "hi" the next morning.

Neil Jung (WmC), Friday, 13 July 2012 22:40 (twelve years ago)

dogs are now banned from getting on the bed while we're in it cos they were starting to get a bit above their station, so they both sleep on a bed on the kitchen floor. they don't have the run of the house or else they would spend half the night chasing each other up and down the stairs.

mod night at the oasis (NickB), Friday, 13 July 2012 22:44 (twelve years ago)

above his station? how could my baby be above his station?!? he's my BABY!

the good news is i can almost always sleep well with this guy because he's quite small and i'm a pretty deep sleeper

he's also a good alarm clock

the late great, Friday, 13 July 2012 22:45 (twelve years ago)

In the bed, under the covers when it's cold, often between my legs or my wife's legs. It wasn't this way at first but after a cross country road trip where we started keeping her in the motel beds with us so we could shut her up if she started barking it just stuck. We actually keep an ottoman next to the bed so she can get up and down easier.

This isn't really that big a deal cause the dog is only 13 pounds, but still it feels sort of ridiculous.

with the fishes ;_;

have you seen the size of my dog? i mean we have a queen size but still

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 19 July 2012 00:07 (twelve years ago)

ours usually sleeps on our bed between us (unless it's a full moon when he lies by the window all night staring out pensively with a stern, wolfish look on his face) but for the past couple of months he's had to sleep in a baby pen in our room because he had knee surgery and isn't allowed to jump up and down off the bed. he was confined all day and night for the first six weeks but now he's allowed to do everything as before except leap on the bed, which he wants to do very badly, he is like a flea in a cartoon.

estela, Thursday, 19 July 2012 00:20 (twelve years ago)

mine used to to sleep on a couch but now prefers to lie on the floor at the foot of the stairs so we can trip over him at night

sometimes harry will stretch out horizonally between f. and i so we all form a giant letter H, i find this behaviour quite vain.

I missed this!

He usually starts out next to my head with his head either on my pillow or actually on my head but often winds up at the foot of the bed.

how do you sleep with him on yr head

mookieproof, Friday, 20 July 2012 00:13 (twelve years ago)

Oh he just uses it as a chin rest. It doesn't last too long. I usually let him stay there for a couple mins because it's adorable but the I move him a bit.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 20 July 2012 00:16 (twelve years ago)

I meant he puts his head on my head, not his whole body. lol.

ok fess up who's the one w the magic snoopy playhouse

the late great, Friday, 20 July 2012 00:17 (twelve years ago)

my erstwhile kitty used to sleep on various parts of me and being new to the experience i hesitated to shift myself because it was so fucking cute. eventually i had to sleep, tho, and felt bad when he went elsewhere

mookieproof, Friday, 20 July 2012 00:19 (twelve years ago)

Yeah. Sometimes I let him stay a lot longer than I want to because I just can't bear to disturb the cuteness.
