...the guy who directed the first Austin Powers movie. HRM. Details here, though to be sure I won't believe it until they're actually in production.

See the AARGH thread; I doubt this happens also - see: The Mask 2, Incredible Mr. Limpet remake, ...

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 15:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Plus Jay Roach has too many franchises up in the air to take this on.

one year passes...
The latest unveiled

I quite like this idea as Martin Freeman has perfected one of the best look of general perplexedness since the guy who played Arthur Dent in the original BBC series.

Perhaps also this will stop people thinking of Bill Nighy as the next Doctor Who.

The Mask 2 is really happening. God save us all.

I just also clicked on the story about the Loch Ness Monster horror film linked to the Hitchhikers story and am shocked that the author thinks it's the quintessential Loch Ness monster story proven by science. It's a horror! The Loch Ness monster hasn't done anything scary! What are you on about?

That CGI baby really did look cool. Admittedly only for the two seconds that you see it in the trailer, but still.

Yes, I know it'll be a crap film.

Chris and I watched the tv version on dvd over the weekend due to NTL not working. It was a lot better than I remember it being, but also a lot shorter. There were two dvds, so after the last episode on the first dvd (episode 6) I was expecting to change dvds and watch some more, and so was very disappointed.

It was a logical ending, but it didn't compute in my brain. I'm like that with books too, though.

mark p (Mark P), Sunday, 1 February 2004 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

so who should be Zaphod?

My answer: Alan Rickman and David Lee Roth

gabbneb (gabbneb), Sunday, 1 February 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Alan Rickman would be so good. I also like Nicholas Cage )maybe not for this part but in general)

isadora (isadora), Sunday, 1 February 2004 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

David Lee Rickman?

Jordan (Jordan), Sunday, 1 February 2004 21:17 (twenty-two years ago)

You're aware that two heads are required? Do they have to be the same?
