It has lots of biros in it, but god knows if any of them work.
― Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 10:19 (twenty-three years ago)
haha i got a promo red biro once from a film screening (a v.rub thriller set in a vancouver hospital, malcolm mcdowell as crazed surgeon) shaped like a syringe => after a while it looked like much re-used junkie paraphernalia, which i kept in my see-thru pencilcase

I remember me and my friend Stephen agreeing at 16 or 17 that the fact we had stopped using pencil cases was symptomatic of our declining attitude to school.

My last pencil case was blue vinyl. In fact I still have it, and use it to store my son's coloured pencils. However, I must dispose of it before he learns to read, as it has 'bonus cock' scrawled across it in large black permanent marker. Not sure why, but surely that's not fit for kiddie consumption.

I still have a pencil case! I use it to keep all my drawing pens in, or they'd run all over my flat. Like they kind of do anyway, but moreso.
It is a metal tin with a picture of Ganesha on the front. I got it in an Indian import type shop in Vermont. It's good to have Ganesha on my pencil box, as he is the remover of obstacles, and artists always face lots of annoying obstacles.

That's great.
I have a worn, brown leather pencil case that I keep a bottle of ink and some blotting paper in for when I am using my fancy fountain pen.

ahh my old fishing tackle pencil case. i hated everyone in college and tippexed the lyrics to Damage Inc on it, and all the other students thought i were weird.
i use a shoe box now.

Mine was a leather tube/pouch type thing with an antenna and a button I broke off a radio glued on. It was called Radio Pennezak (Radio Pencil Case). Somehow, that was enough to be funny.
― StanM, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 10:29 (eighteen years ago)
That's awesome. And here I was thinking I was cool with my calculator ruler.
― Forgot My Pencil, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 10:31 (eighteen years ago)
Hahah my pencil case in high school had the bauhaus logo and COCTEAU TWINS and stuff written all over it =D
― Trayce, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 11:03 (eighteen years ago)
Someone wrote NWA on my pencil case and I didn't know what it meant :/
― ledge, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 11:48 (eighteen years ago)
i have only just realised that it is the sedentary nature of (most) office work which nixes the need for a pencil case. Unlike schoolkids I am not always going from room to room and so favour the plastic stand up cylinders for pencils, pens ect ect, instead.

I don't think I've had one since the cigar box in kindergarten . . .
though my bag does have a little pocket to slide them in.
― Ms Misery, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)
I had so many. I can't remember when it started, but at a certain point they tapped into that crazy early teen girl mind and wallet: fancy pencil-cases (and fancy pens, erasers,...). God, I used to RUN to the shop and spend all my money on those things. I had the bestest cases in the whole universe. :-)

i still have my last one. it's a red, metal hello kitty box.

At work I have a DOCTOR WHO pencil tin free from Doctor Who Adventures magazine and at home I have a Dalek Stationery Set! Also from Doctor Who Adventures! Let's have three cheers for the awesome, Doctor Who Adventures mag!
Huzza! Huzza! Huzza!
(Sadly I don't actually use it but I am glad it's there)
― Sarah, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 13:34 (eighteen years ago)
Lauren, you MUST post a pic of that. I have been trying my very best to convince my parents Ophelia is a HK fan, but I ph34r they realize it's actually me channeling my obsession through her. ;-)

Mine was a long black rubber zip-up one with times tables on one side and formulae and different types of triangles on the other. Except you couldn't really read the times tables properly because my friend had written 'GEOFF CAPES IS YOUR MUM' right across it in Tippex.
This was at about 18, tragically.
