This is the thread where everyone turning 30 next calendar year gives an almighty cheer for themselves. I'll start it off by noting that I may be the first one to do so since my birthday is Jan 18. The wide is promising a huge party, but until we win the lottery I shall remain skeptical.

(Prompted by Chris and Tom on the "What do you do on your birthday?" thread.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 19:53 (twenty-three years ago)

wahoo, I'll be 27!

hip hip hooray for the 30 year olds, in their magical birthing year.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Happy birthday to everyone next year! Do I still have to say that individually, lots of times, do you think? I don't think I'll try a parallel 1959 thread - I might be all alone. I suspect ILE has more people born in 1973 than the whole of that decade. Are you not starting this thread at least three months early, Dan?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:07 (twenty-three years ago)

I turn 20 in under two months time. Should I have, like, achieved something with my life by now? Apart from 40th all-time posts on ILM.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:09 (twenty-three years ago)

haha Dom I am, as you can probably work out, over twice your age and I have achieved bugger all, and confidently expect this to continue to be true however long I survive. I can only blame ILX for this in the last few months.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I know it could be seen as jumping the gun, Martin; I just noticed Tom and Chris mentioning it, reflected that it was happening to me, too, then remembered that there were a bunch of other people (Nick? Pete?) that are turning 30 that year, too. Then I got curious about everyone's birthday plans, hence the thread.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:27 (twenty-three years ago)

March 4, 1973. Ahhh, Yeah! Big Up.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:33 (twenty-three years ago)

i always assumed dom was older than me for some reason.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:43 (twenty-three years ago)

People always think I'm older, both online and IRL. Maturity or cynicism?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 20:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, did you just call your wife "the wide?"

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 21:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, did you just call your wife "the wide?"

HAHA. So much for Dan turning 30.

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

GO 1973!!

We established back in olden-ILE that most of us were born in this triffic year. I am going to have th biggest ever May Day riot this puny universe has ever seen.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 23:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Rargh Rargh! Nov. 22nd. I still have to deal with turning 29. Sked.

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 23:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I blame "the wide" on fatigue and an inability to proofread. Argh hide me from the wrath!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 September 2002 02:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I have some perfect blackmail material for the Boston FAP. Dan, please order me doubles for the entire night on Thursday, thank you.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 September 2002 04:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey I am also born in 1973 - as is my boyfriend. Woohoo!

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 19 September 2002 06:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Yer all a bunch of spring chickens! ARRRR...

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 19 September 2002 08:02 (twenty-three years ago)

January the eighth. there will be a party, and I will probably cry.

chris (chris), Thursday, 19 September 2002 08:37 (twenty-three years ago)

So you'll be launching this special year, then, Chris? You will set the tone for the year to come - except there may still be people recovering from New Year and in a bad mood after their first week back at work, so it might limit the jollity.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 19 September 2002 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

It will be horrible, because something always goes terribly wrong on my birthday. Turning 30 I'm not really bothered about, it's just birthdays themselves that seem to be jinxed.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 19 September 2002 12:52 (twenty-three years ago)

January the eighth.

*pout* I never get to go first!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 September 2002 13:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait your turn, young man.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 September 2002 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

What if I don't want to wait, OLD MAN?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 September 2002 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)
