YES! As much as Dogtown & Z-boys was awesome to watch, it didn't feel like my era of skateboarding because those dudes were done by the time I was growing up.

Yeah, exactly. Dogtown guys were already assigned veteran status by the time I delved into skating around the mid-80s, so while that doc was cool from a historical perspective, this one will be cool from a nostalgia perspective.

saw this in the cinema about three weeks ago, it's brilliant imo and I'm not even hugely invested in skater culture. it's worth it just for the homoerotic montage of Animal Chin clips

it's like Dogtown: Chapter 2. So fucking good. By the end I was so struck by what a great, unique thing Peralta did for those guys, being that surrogate father-figure for them.

Mountain said something that I loved. He was talking about how the Bones guys always copped it for being straight-edge, not partying or doing drugs or whatever. But he said it was not a deliberate choice, it was just that they got what they needed to from skating. They were *always* excited to skate. He said if you can't get that excitement from skating, that's when you do all the other stuff. And basically he said the other dudes were getting loaded because they couldn't beat Caballero, lol!

The Future Primitive footage of Mountain really took me back. I remember watching that with my friends from high school, and then my little brother and I rented it when he started skating. Fking great.

I obviously quit following the sport a long time ago, but I think it's completely awesome that Steve Caballero NEVER QUIT being a working skater, and is still competing at 47. That dude is the best.
