Life Goes On – the TV show

Because I woke up this morning thinking about the Jesse/Becca love story, which I thought was indescribably romantic as a little girl! I have to credit this show for making me see HIV+ ppl as people, and not awful specters of death like they were talked about in school, at a very young age.

I don't really remember the show all that well. It had the same vibe as Wonder Years to me – a show about a family that was sometimes funny and sometimes very dramatic but in a way that seemed real.

this occupies the same space in my brain as Thirtysomething and China Beach, shows my mom at the stage of childhood when the only primetime shows I had any interest in watching were, like, Wonder Years and Doogie Howser.

I barely remember anything about it except some of the cast. I don't remember any stories or themes or anything else, really...except it's responsible for making me partial to Ob La Di, Ob La Da.

this feels like a really stupid thing to ask but was "life goes on" a common phrase before the Beatles song?

Also like Wonder Years, this show had to have a Beatles-penned theme song replaced w/a stupid rerecorded piffle for DVD/streaming releases later on.
