I saw the trailer before ParaNorman a few weeks back and thought, "Okay, must be some TV show that's huge among kids that just have never heard of for obvious reasons."
Now I find out it was filmed in 2009 in Michigan independently by someone who helped produce or import the TeleTubbies and the whole thing has flopped on its ass.
And everything about it is just.

I kept seeing the commercial for this movie and was wondering what the hell it was, because these types of movies are usually based off kids shows. It seemed so wackadoo I assumed it was fundamentalist Christian puppets.
Also, taking sides: Nick Drago as J. Edgar vs. Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar

When I was a kid I had the biggest crush on Cary Elwes thanks to the Princess Bride, but thanks to that clip that's another crush I can add to the "Seriously, wtf were you thinking" scrapbook.

Weird thing is he seems to just want to randomly try and do 'American South' accents -- he did that voice for the Pixar dub of Porco Rosso.

He was on an episode of one of the L&Os where he had an ATROCIOUS New York accent as well.

And the producer's down in the comments:
To everyone that has come from a place of love to support this lovefilled film... thank you so much for your support. To the extraordinary group of professionals that helped bring The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure to the big screen I say... thank you for the bottom of my heart.Going into this project, I knew that there would be doubters, haters and others that would not understand what we were trying to achieve. Our commitment was to create something that would bring joy to children and their families. I am happy knowing that we were able to do that for thousands of families so far. Scotty you are extraordinary in your unwavering commitment to sending more love into the world. Of everyone involved in bringing this film to life, you are the one I am most proud of...
