Origami: Search and Destroy?

I haven't folded any origami for a while, due to lack of paper. Have you ever performed/folded an origami feat to your circle of friends? What is your favorite fold? What's a good place to buy books and paper? Or does doing origami make you lame, or is it a fun and exciting way to spend an evening alone?

The last time I did origami, was in February in Michigan. I was making mathematical origami structures for my Mom. I would be proud if I had made this:

my favourite origami feat is the one where you end up with a phat chronixor blunt. now *that* will impress a circle of friends.

Using a hundred or so tiny paper cranes, of various colors, as packing material for a gift: CLASSIC.

I was given an origami book one year. All of the designs that looked kinda cool (i.e. everything that wasn't a cup that couldn't stand up) had at least one illustration missing from the instructions. What's your childhood trauma?

I loved to do oragami when I was a kid (I must've checked this one book out from the school library dozens of times) but doing it right with the nice paper was too expensive. I should try again now that I am old and hardened against the horror of paying a lot for little shiny paper squares.

I know how to make an origami frog (from rectangular paper, such as one of the 50 fliers for clubs you get given whenever you go to the pub on the weekend). It even jumps
I have absolutely no ide how to explain it in text though.
