love cooking. some comedy is good, tho lots of rubbish, amn't at all good at diy but i would like if i was.

nostalgia is obviously horrendous (when it's to do with something i hate) and a lot more acceptable when it's to do with something i like, just can't get my head around that.

My first and last DIY attempt (assemble wooden beading into frame for small window in front door) involved about ten trips to the DIY shop because at each stage I'd realise I needed new things I hadn't known about, which cost probably about £50 as opposed to my initial estimates of under a tenner, and then I realised I was unable to cut a neat 45 degree angle and not really planning to buy an entire workbench in the hope of getting a neater cut.

I stuck my bodged handiwork to the front door and made sure the outer porch was permanently locked for about 2 days until my housemate returned from holiday and said "this looks bloody awful, what happened?" and got the landlord to replace it, which was an option I hadn't thought of in my panic.

(Frame collapsed and the window fell out and smashed everywhere when everyone else was on holiday and I got into a bit of a state because it was now possible to stick your arm through the door from outside and open it)

So, I am the Lex of DIY.

torn between indierock and comedy. wd not dismiss 100 percent of either but both are hideous way in excess of any good they've produced. both probly are in quite specific 21st century states of soul-death that don't apply so much to nostalgia or cookery or at all to DIY really. also my personal nostalgia appears to be mostly for the 20 years or so before i was born which doesn't seem as bad to me.

essentially i'm saying that 1 Kasabian or 1 Russell Kane negates 1 billion of whatever shit you wanna claim is worthwhile
