Looking at the clip it's clear that she probably thought the volunteers had already been told this information (if information it be, and not hearsay). Seems to me like the old British disease of non-coordination of information but they should have checked facts and circumstances before broadcasting.

As far as Sky News, Murdoch etc. are concerned, I imagine traumatising a family doesn't really matter to them; the only thing that matters to them is that "It's A Good Story."
