I was trying to search for examples...I see that Evie Nagy had Patton Oswalt's last record on her 2011. Any others? Any significant showings of stand up records on the final results?

hell no, music only (but musical comedy would be fair game)

i mean at a certain point you might as well start including books on tape

some dude, Thursday, 18 October 2012 10:34 (thirteen years ago)

Mary Ty$ Band (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 18 October 2012 12:13 (thirteen years ago)

Mordy, Thursday, 18 October 2012 12:19 (thirteen years ago)

Can't imagine that I ever would myself, but for someone else, I can't see anything wrong with it. Marcus had the Firesign Theatre on his '74 ballot.

some dude, Thursday, 18 October 2012 12:28 (thirteen years ago)

Here you go Whiney. Here's one Grammy example (pre-Pazz & Jop era)

From Wiki

The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart is a 1960 live album by comedian Bob Newhart. The debut album by Newhart, the album was number one on the Billboard Pop Album chart, topping an album by Elvis Presley and the cast album of The Sound of Music.

It won Album of the Year at the 1961 Grammy Awards and Newhart was named Best New Artist. It was the first comedy album to win Album of the Year and the only time a comedian has won Best New Artist.

Newhart wanted the title to be The Most Celebrated New Comedian Since Attila the Hun. But Warner Bros. executives created the album's title and Newhart had to settle for his idea as a subtitle.[3]
