i like Taxi and the bygone era of the working class workplace sitcom, but Cheers easily.

turds (Hungry4Ass), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:30 (thirteen years ago)

its a shame devito never guested on cheers though. that would've been insanely cool

turds (Hungry4Ass), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:30 (thirteen years ago)

Cheers had the better characters and yeah was probly funnier

I'm more of a Barney Miller kind of guy. Sue me.

Taxi, though when it went downhill it RACED there. Cheers took too long to get going but once it did it stayed on that high plateau for a long time. But Jim Ignatowski trumps all.

i don't get how Cheers "took too long to get going," first couple seasons may not have all my favorite characters or hallmarks of the show but i never feel like they're lacking when i'm watching them

Victory Goon (some dude), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 23:23 (thirteen years ago)

turds (Hungry4Ass), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 23:25 (thirteen years ago)

wait what? who doesn't like judd hirsch?

is cheers gonna win this in a landslide?

I loved Taxi out of all measure when it was in early syndication but when I think about it now it's the this-has-gone-on-too-long episodes that leap to mind. hadn't thought about Cheers in forever before reading the other thread and was surprised to be reminded that it was quite good - it had faded almost completely from memory

still probably voting Taxi because of Rev. Jim at his best

'night, Mr Walters...

Mark G, Wednesday, 31 October 2012 10:12 (thirteen years ago)

Taxi's great and all but i'm honestly not sure i wouldn't choose Night Court over Taxi
