Ephesians 6:12:

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Deuteronomy 18:

9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Did you grow up LDS?!? This kind of hypervigilance towards anything that seems remotely occult to me is a specifically Mormon, but that's what I grew up in....

One time friend and I tried Ye Olde Ouija Board when we were in junior high and we only got gibberish. Our determination was that the spirits were fucking with us cause we were occult noobs. Because of this, we only got deeper into such subjects so as to be more informed and refined in our knowledge... Satan won, I guess.

Tolkien was the person who converted CS Lewis into a Xtian; it takes a p extreme brand of evangelical to include him in one's demonic possession worry-list

I also like that they included the Church of Satan, because some christians might not be aware of its satanic connections

silverfish, Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:00 (thirteen years ago)

question for everybody: would you let yourself be possessed by a demon if it gave you cool powers or secret knowledge and was actually an pretty chill roommate to share your body with??

fueled by satanism, violence, and sodomy (elmo argonaut), Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:03 (thirteen years ago)

from wikipedia:

While the Trilateral Commission is only one of many similar think tanks on the right and left, many notable conspiracy theorists believe the organization to be a central plotter of a world government or synarchy. As documented by journalist Jonathan Kay, 9/11 conspiracy theorist Luke Rudkowski gained notoriety in April 2007 by interrupting a lecture by former Trilateral Commission director Zbigniew Brzezinski and accusing the organization and a few others of having orchestrated the attacks of September 11th to initiate a new world order.[7] Conservative and right-wing groups such as the John Birch Society and right wing conspiracy theorists such as Alex Jones also regularly tout this idea.[8][9]
Conservative pundit Charles Krauthammer alluded to the conspiracy theories when he was asked in 2012 who makes up the "Republican establishment":

Karl Rove is the president. We meet every month on the full moon...at the Masonic Temple. We have the ritual: Karl brings the incense, I bring the live lamb and the long knife, and we began... with a pledge of allegiance to the Trilateral Commission.[10]

How much crucifix masturbation am I going to have to put up with? Answer depends heavily on that, leaning towards "yes."

super perv powder (Phil D.), Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:04 (thirteen years ago)

I'm sure demonic possession starts out fun, would probably get you invited to fun parties and stuff, but at the same time it seems like a demon would not bother with keeping your body in shape or even clean, and would probably not bother with getting your body to work to often which would probably end up getting you fired and ultimately homeless. It would be great for an occasional long weekend though.

silverfish, Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:13 (thirteen years ago)

yeah if at all possible i would make the possessing spirit sign a lease or something, maybe even require a security deposit

fueled by satanism, violence, and sodomy (elmo argonaut), Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:16 (thirteen years ago)

Not sure what Trilateral Commission has to do w demonic possession, sounds more like worldy power-grabbing.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 15 November 2012 17:57 (thirteen years ago)

Church of Satan has probably less demonic possession and more great house parties.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 15 November 2012 18:01 (thirteen years ago)

Vampirism pretty much seems like the most direct route. I mean, you get bitten by a demonic vampire and you are possessed by a demon for eternity, right?
