D'Isiah T. Billings-Clyde isn't my favorite name, but I love his delivery.
May go with L'Carpetron, but X-Wing is next-level.

was thinking of mixing some real player names in there - D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Zoltan Mesko, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Frostee Rucker, Early Doucet, Bear Woods, Quentin Jammer, Atari Bigby...

This is a very funny video and poll, frogbs, and first and foremost I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing it with us and let you know that I sure did LOL.
But despite the LOLing, frogbs, I have to admit that the video, poll, and "message" here ultimately left me feeling sad. I feel sad and wistful for the "good old" days when our African-American athletes had normal, respectable names. I'm talking about the Jessie Owenses or Jackey Robinsons of yore. Good, honest, true American names. Why, even the gals had 'em! Florence Joyner, for example. A perfectly usual, non-threatening name for a lady. Not flashy, not uppity, not filled with exotic consonants, extraneous characters, and hyphenated "cultural identifiers." The way good real American names should be.
Now don't get me wrong, I may be a traditionalist but I'm all for "diversity." In fact, just last week at the Walmart a nice young sales associate helped me load a turkey into my shopping cart. He was African-American and his name tag told me he called himself Thomas. And you know what? I respect that name, and I respected Thomas's helping hand. I respect that name because I know it, and I know it respects me. But does the name "D'Squarius" respect me? I don't think so.
And that's the sad part of this video, frogbs, is that the humorous "comedy" element is all too real. Somewhere along the line, these black names just went wrong. Maybe it was "Muhammad" Ali. Maybe it was when that nice young man Irvin Johnson adopted his "Magic" moniker (which, if you'll recall, may have led to similar problems for him too as a result of his using that "magic" in inappropriate ways).
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that while I'm not beyond laughing at such silliness, I also know when our country is facing a real problem. And maybe I was born too late, frogbs, but in my opinion, this video does a great job of highlighting this problem. There needs to be a greater reverence for assimilation into our American Culture, both on the field and off. Let's not LOL at that idea.

You know that the G. in "Shakiraquan T.G.I.F. Carter" stands for God, right? Talk about traditional, wholesome values!
