Even the potentially good ones sound like parodies.

2 Chain Pizzas (to go) (Eazy), Thursday, 29 November 2012 01:09 (thirteen years ago)

sometimes the plot summaries can be deceiving. movies that sound clever or exciting turn out to be awful, and stuff that sound boring or trite turns out to be amazing.

Those summaries make me want to never for the rest of my life see any movie that doesn't have Jason Statham in it.

Hell Baby / U.S.A. (Directors and screenwriters: Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon) — An expectant couple moves into the most haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans – a house with a demonic curse. Genuinely looking forward to God Loves Uganda and, of course, Stoker.

Zero Dark 33⅓: The Final Insult (Eric H.), Wednesday, 16 January 2013 21:06 (thirteen years ago)

Hoping that the year-of-Korean-auteurs-going-West thing turns out OK.

Simon H., Wednesday, 16 January 2013 21:16 (thirteen years ago)

Seeing The Last Stand tonight, so here's to hoping.

Zero Dark 33⅓: The Final Insult (Eric H.), Wednesday, 16 January 2013 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

Nope on ^^^ hope.

Meanwhile, the hyperbole seems extra thick this year. Comparing the new Shane Carruth to The Tree of Life: http://www.avclub.com/articles/day-five-at-sundance-is-all-about-the-perplexing-o,91442/

Zero Dark 33⅓: The Final Insult (Eric H.), Tuesday, 22 January 2013 17:41 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah Last Stand was not good. Cautiously excited for the Carruth and the two Silva flicks.

In a World = pretty good. Melamed is great. Bell is not very likeable, which kind of makes the story fail to be as compelling as it should be. A little tired of seeing films about quirky manchildren/womanchildren lately. Zeitgeisty I know but enough..

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Monday, 9 September 2013 15:01 (twelve years ago)

Some pretty funny writing though.

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Monday, 9 September 2013 15:01 (twelve years ago)

Also Bell looks way too good/sexy for the role. She comes off as being too vain to genuinely make herself look less attractive to fit the part, instead just opting for "well this frumpy sweatshirt should do it."
