i have more familiarity with heath but i think i'm gonna vote skor simply on name/iconography alone.

bob chipeska (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Thursday, 6 December 2012 16:22 (thirteen years ago)

it sounds like the name of the viking who first brought back the recipe for toffee to the norsemen.

or a mid-period bergman movie about a suicidal chocolate shop owner.

either of these crushed up and mixed into ice cream/milkshakes are the best thing

slam dunk, Thursday, 6 December 2012 16:25 (thirteen years ago)

Skor forever. Heath is too sweet, Skor has that crazy burnt toffee thing down.

Dave Whobeck? (jjjusten), Thursday, 6 December 2012 16:29 (thirteen years ago)

This is a rough poll to roll out the week that I decide to quit sugar. I vote Skor though.

how's life, Thursday, 6 December 2012 16:30 (thirteen years ago)

the main difference i can tell is that the heath bar is a little thicker than skor

Breaking a Skor bar into pieces is high on my list of tactile food-related pleasures

Skor one for tasteful packaging and intriguing Scandinavian-ish names, because that's what I voted for.

turds (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 9 December 2012 07:58 (thirteen years ago)

well, i assume it does. i dont have any 30 year old skors around to verify

turds (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 9 December 2012 08:00 (thirteen years ago)

Skor because it sounds more like a brand of snuff than a candy bar

she was giving it to two friends ...Aaay! (crüt), Sunday, 9 December 2012 10:08 (thirteen years ago)

Heath. For obvious reasons.

Jeff, Sunday, 9 December 2012 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

I always used to think that "Heath" bars were called "Health" bars and that they were like Power Bars or something.

Pat Finn, Sunday, 9 December 2012 17:00 (thirteen years ago)

this is grandma candy

akm, Sunday, 9 December 2012 17:20 (thirteen years ago)

I shopped for groceries about an hour ago. In the checkout line, I turned to the candy rack and searched it up and down but found neither Heath nor Skor in stock. Bummer, cause I was ready to back up my vote with a Skor purchase and put my money where my mouth was (or, more accurately, put my money into the cashier's hand and then later, at home, put a bite of the unwrapped Skor bar into my mouth).

Kinda interesting history, Heath dates to 1928, refused to licence it (but gave the recipe) to Swedish company Marabou in 1953, which produced the Daim bar. Hershey later bought Marabou, and so reintroduced Heath's own recipe as the American pretending to be Swede Skor in 1981.

Opps, wrong video. Go to 6:15 for Hershey's pretending to be Swedish.

Chinchilla! Chinchilla! Chinchilla! (Sanpaku), Monday, 10 December 2012 00:11 (thirteen years ago)

Course, "Skor" is Swedish word for shoes.
