so this is it.

My band played on Saturday and we did a cover of Killing In The Name Of. On Friday the Fringe Festival begins. I still have hayfever.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:03 (twenty-three years ago)

this thread can only cease when ned returns

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Last Friday there was a homocide in the house opposite mine.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Today I had a muffin and a latte at Nova. The muffin wasn't very nice.

At Satellite the show is a sculpture show with all oversized toys (puzzles, blocks and word games and whatnot) For the opening we had heaps of sweets and fizzy drink and wine and everyone got down on the floor and played with all the art and there was Fox in Socks and Yertle the Turtle and The Star Bellied Sneetches on the stereo.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I am having a problem with elevators. I keep forgetting to get off.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

the weather is bright and cold. some chance of rain. avocadoes are 65 cents at Countdown.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:36 (twenty-three years ago)

can other people read it too

ron (ron), Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I am glad this thread exists.
(rainy is yr band going to cover michael jackson?)

Ess Kay (esskay), Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Ron, yes please, of course!

Ess Kay, still no decision on the Michael Jackson.

rainy, Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

"I am having a problem with elevators. I keep forgetting to get off.'

I have had this problem before. It goes away.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:49 (twenty-three years ago)

my life is boring. i have no money, and i am always at school. i missed the last satellite opening cos it wasn't in the fink. rainy's band was good. i have been sober for five days. i just saw mandingo-style drumming in my ethnomusicology class. it was great!

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 24 September 2002 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

ned is an honorary dunedin. hi ned!

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Avocados at 65 cents is pretty good. They are over a dollar here.

isadora, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 00:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay! And I will know all these places and I have a mental geography of where everything is and more! :-)

But "Killing in the Name Of"? *weeps* Surely you know how RATM are not my friends! But I'm sure your version was eight million times better, being on acoustic guitar and with actual singing voices and all that. ;-) Anyway, you must beat that hayfever soon to prevent sadness. And that opening sounds great! I would have lurved to have seen it. :-)

Not sure about this rum homicide business, though. I can't say I noticed anyone looking particularly shifty eyed when I was there.

Di plays the drums = she rocks even more.

Is the hippy statue art thing still open? Can you mock it in my name?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:04 (twenty-three years ago)

In "mIke News" I am planning on moving back to New England with lover in tow, and maybe pursue an d actuaul career of some kind. Any suggestions? I also bought the new Don Lennon cd

Mike Hanle y (mike), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:17 (twenty-three years ago)

no i didn't play the drums! but i saw them being played.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:48 (twenty-three years ago)

so ned, did you hook up with anyone while down there?

i don't really care, but geeta won't shut up about it.

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:54 (twenty-three years ago)

jess is projecting his thoughts again.

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:58 (twenty-three years ago)

foiled again.

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 01:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Good grief.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 02:09 (twenty-three years ago)

that's not an answer!!

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Snootchie bootchies!

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 02:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Jesus H. This reminds me of the thread a few months back where I was asked if I 'got lucky' after a date.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 02:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned I hate RATM too but the one by Rainy's band was really amazing.

I went swimming; it was overrun by schoolkids (it's holidays).

In the library toilets a woman I don't know talked to me about how wooden seats are better than plastic ones because with plastic ones you get wet if you sit on them (?)

spectra, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 03:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned I hate RATM too but the one by Rainy's band was really amazing.

Yay yay. That is good. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 03:27 (twenty-three years ago)

rainy should record a song and send it to the comp.

jel news: it's 8:30 am and I'm not dressed yet, I think I have a cold, but I have to go to work.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 06:34 (twenty-three years ago)

8:50 am: just realised why eminem is named thusly, it's his intials, M & M. It's gonna be a good day. sorry about the thread hijack.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 06:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I have some songs recorded but i didn't want to be on the compilation. I was too shy is all.

rainy (lucylurex), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 07:48 (twenty-three years ago)

okay I am at Arc now, with my band and we are having soundcheck soon. Ned, if you were here you would be sitting to my left probably. Gee is on my right, Anna on my further right. Gee is drinking the house red. Anna is drinking tea.

rainy, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 07:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Di, come to arc! I have some old money lying around that you can have!

rainy, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 07:55 (twenty-three years ago)

This reminds me of the thread a few months back where I was asked if I 'got lucky' after a date.

Ned you started the thread -- what did you expect? so did you? ;)

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 07:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Felicity I was just thinking about you! You should be the next Dunedin visitor, I promise to protect you from the High Street Homicidal Stabbing Maniac!

rainy, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:02 (twenty-three years ago)

ok, we can make guacamole and have the darnage a trois!

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:11 (twenty-three years ago)

is that when three of us curse mildly?

rainy, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Come on Ned. We need to know! Did you?

who? (starry), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I think that everyone must think that ned "hooked up" with me, because he stayed at my house and we saw each other's panties and all, but I have a girlfriend.

If Ned did get busy with somebody I think I know who it might have been though. maybe.

rainy, Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think Ned hooked up with Rainy!!!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 08:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm spending a stupid amount of time thinking about what I'd be doing if I was in Dunedin.

BTW if any of you see Marcel around town or at a gig (ha!), give him a sound kicking for not emailing me.

Ess Kay (esskay), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 09:14 (twenty-three years ago)

rainy yr song must be on the comp

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 09:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Indeed, I did not hook up with Rainy. So enough of that speculation, ya gossip-mongers. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 12:21 (twenty-three years ago)

so ned, did you hook up with anyone while down there?
i don't really care, but geeta won't shut up about it.

Well, all that talk about yours and Rainy's panties could give a person ideas.

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 12:22 (twenty-three years ago)

The panties stayed on I guess.

You never told me you had a band or a girlfriend Rainy.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 12:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna is drinking tea.
I was only scanning this thread, due to holding a cup of tea. I was so surprised by Rainy's ability to see on the other side of the world I nearly dropped it. Then I realised it was another Anna. Slow day today.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Rainy have you gotten my pudding-package yet?

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

if you have to ask you've missed the point Nabisco

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 25 September 2002 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

hi i'm back, did anyone notice i was gone? fuck all y'all then. i have a new house, it is cool. we got thrown out of our last one with violence & menaces, it sucked.

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:25 (twenty-three years ago)

doorag! i got an e-mail from lisa! does she know where you live now? cos shes coming down today!!!

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:32 (twenty-three years ago)

where is your new house. I noticed you were gone. Sorry I left while you were in the bathroom that night, I didn't know where you were and the cat meowed at me and I panicked.

Di better yet, stay up and watch M2 with me at the Artist's Lounge (Opening at Satellite on Monday the 30th at 5:30 pm with music, wine, television, people wearing just panties and off the shoulder sweat tops etc)

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

YESYESYES! (can we do it tonight as well though, at my house? i'm getting lollies!)

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:39 (twenty-three years ago)

"did ned get lucky?" everyone on ILE thinks dunedin is full of polyamorous love sluts.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:40 (twenty-three years ago)

no can do tonight, unless you want to roam the streets with me doing a fantastic media blitz (and hunting out the polyamorous love sluts).

ps gimme all your rekkids.

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:43 (twenty-three years ago)

yes indeedy rainy, i will drop them off tomorrow. i also have yr modern lovers CD to return, and a copy of robotheory #2.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

obv. I meant to say "the kitty made meow at me".

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 01:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Rainy have you gotten my pudding-package yet?

Must...resist...urge...to...make...Dan-Perry-esque...comment...

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 26 September 2002 02:16 (twenty-three years ago)

That crossed my mind as well, but I assumed Nitsuh meant it that way from the start.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 26 September 2002 02:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't got the packet of lemon pudding yet Nitsuh, but it could be in today's post.

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)

(there was other stuff besides pudding, obviously)

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 September 2002 04:44 (twenty-three years ago)

(@)

ron (ron), Thursday, 26 September 2002 05:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Nabisco, I simply cannot wait!
Ron: (@)
In other news, I just had a vietnamese chicken salad at Nova and also some fries. They were great. After I had had them I was sitting at the bar and my NOSE started BLEEDING. It took three wait staff and a cold teaspoon to make it stop.

Everyone in Dunedin: Come to the opening of "Introspect" tomorrow at 5:30 (downstairs at Outré, Lower Stuart St) it's gonna be spectacular! Plus free wine and whatnot.

Ned, I need your address so I can send that art to you!

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 06:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I shall send it to you soon. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 26 September 2002 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Parts of your body Nabisco, hmm? hmm? HMM?

Graham (graham), Thursday, 26 September 2002 14:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Uhhh yeah Graham I sent Rainy my bits.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 September 2002 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Right.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 September 2002 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

packet of lemon pudding

Is that what the kids call it these days?

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 26 September 2002 15:01 (twenty-three years ago)

NB shut up.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 September 2002 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Well I did so nerrr.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 26 September 2002 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

I noticed that duane wasn't about.

rainy how is my painting, am I gonna be famous?

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 September 2002 16:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I just assumed ned was doing his laundry and rainy saw his panties, he wasn't wearing them at the time. See how innocent I am?

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 September 2002 16:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Jel, the panties jamboree was purely laundry related. As for your painting, it's getting awfully exciting now, the Artist's Lounge opens on Monday evening, with all kinds of music and whatnot. When I send you back your painting I will send you all the advertising stuff like the posters and such.

rainy, Thursday, 26 September 2002 21:37 (twenty-three years ago)

excellent!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 27 September 2002 16:14 (twenty-three years ago)

my new house is in sligo tce which is still in roslyn but on the town side, right by the green belt. it's choice! i got a new phone # too but i don't have it on me...di knows it, if you wanna call me ask her. i don't got my computator at home yet but will soon.

CM Ensemble are playing at Lines Of Flight tonite! who all of you people will go?

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 27 September 2002 22:03 (twenty-three years ago)

rainy what, the CAT scared you? you should've waited, i would've given you a lift home, jeez.

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 27 September 2002 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I was a bit crazed what with having eaten all those chocolate biscuits, and there were too many doors at your old house anyway. Happy New House Day, when is the party?

rainy, Saturday, 28 September 2002 00:47 (twenty-three years ago)

hopefully i'll make it to lines of shite tonight, doorag, i'll have to see if my flatmate's bandmates will give me a complementary pass.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 28 September 2002 00:50 (twenty-three years ago)

does anyone know where ricko or dan brady are? tell them to call me ok?

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Saturday, 28 September 2002 01:35 (twenty-three years ago)

has ricko not gotten in touch with you yet? i gave him yr number last night.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 28 September 2002 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

who the hell are ricko and dan brady, they sound made up.

rainy, Saturday, 28 September 2002 01:41 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah he rang me last night & so did dan b. but i haven't heard from either of em today & i don't know where they are at. so if you see em tell them etc etc.

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Saturday, 28 September 2002 01:43 (twenty-three years ago)

i saw rainy in her panties last night.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 28 September 2002 02:17 (twenty-three years ago)

as did most of dunedin ILx. rainy you PANTY FLASHER!

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 28 September 2002 02:21 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah but it's the Fringe Festival, trousers are optional!

rainy (rainy), Saturday, 28 September 2002 02:22 (twenty-three years ago)

plus it kept people from commenting on my art.

rainy (rainy), Saturday, 28 September 2002 02:23 (twenty-three years ago)

you mean there was ART?!!

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 28 September 2002 02:25 (twenty-three years ago)

hey what's been happening?

also it is urgent & key that you ignore my earlier request to kick marcel as it transpires I'd forgotten that he'd been in east timor.

Ess Kay (esskay), Saturday, 5 October 2002 14:03 (twenty-three years ago)

You just want to kick him anyway. Regardless, I now wish to hear how the Fringe Festival nominated Rainy as Queen of the May, and how the evil critics who had been bothering her were chased into the harbor mudflats. Hurrah!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 5 October 2002 14:27 (twenty-three years ago)
