Here's the thing. As soon as he started singing the song, I knew what he was saying. I like, knew this song, pretty well, even. Like I've heard it a few times before and found it very memorable. But I have most definitely not seen this film, ever. I would definitely have remembered something that made as little sense as the musical sequence. I can only assume that either A) this was some kind of single B) someone has made a cover of Tim Curry's song about Halloween C) I am clairvoyant.

Q. A few years after that, you did “Muppet Treasure Island.” Did you have conflict with any of the Muppets?

A. I didn’t. They’re my favorites, actually. One of the great things about working with them is that you come to see them as characters and not as puppets, which is down to the brilliance of the Muppeteers. I loved Miss Piggy. We got on great.

Q. She’s difficult to share the spotlight with.

A. She is. She’s a greedy girl. It was established in the script that we had, maybe sometime in the past, some kind of a fling together. And I improvised a line which never made it into the movie: “Once you’ve had pork, you never look back.” (Deep laugh.)

Saw this a few weeks back, and was saving it for October, but...

I somehow stumbled upon Clue not too long ago and really enjoyed it... insane cast (including a Jane Wiedlin cameo!)

saw Clue for the first time a few months ago too, Curry's step count in that movie must have been off the charts

I’m having my friends over for a slumber party, and Mum drives us to the video shop to rent a bunch of movies. While we’re there, Mum hands me a vhs and says “You should watch this too. Tim Curry’s in it!”. It’s a black cover with disembodied red lips & dripping blood font that says ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. I look at her doubtfully, saying something about how it better not be scary.

Cut to: weird 50’s kinda musical & Susan Sarandon doing nerdy singing.
Then there’s a Dracula-looking Tim Curry in an elevator.

Suddenly we are SCREAMING and covering our faces and laughing hysterically and I am MORTIFIED (and thrilled!) and I yell at Mum while we all scream-giggle “MUM! What did you do?!! WHAT IS THIS MOVIE?!?!? ”

Ultimately we looooooved the movie (Except for one uptight friend who thought Mum was a pervert forevermore 😂) and we rewatched it endlessly, saw it together live a couple of years later during the Melbourne revival of the stage show. and it of course, delightfully broadened my love of Tim Curry forever after.

My parent's cool friends wanted to take me to a midnight screening of Rocky Horror when I was 10, but my parents said no. Dearly as I love them, I still hold a bit of a grudge over that one.

My sister used to watch a hometaped copy of the made-for-TV The Worst Witch film every single day after school. As such the movie (and the ridiculous song) were so embedded in my brain that I hadn't realised how absurd it was until ilxors rediscovered it years later

anyway, RHPS meant loads to me as a queer teenager who was into theater. i watched it with my friends dozens of times.

i have a distinct memory of being on holiday with my friend Rafe— he had never seen it before, and we had watched it the night before. the next day on the beach, we hardly went swimming, we just ran around and did the Time Warp! blessed memory, this was also the trip when i got my first Sonic Youth CD (“Goo”).

I saw RHPS when it first came out on VHS, I think I was 14 and it was like a bomb going off. I got into that and Bowie and Warhol at the same time but Tim Curry's performance was monumental. Someone driven to madness by a quest to find total freedom on their terms. Being able to pull off that role while making it totally effortlessly sexy is amazing. In no way is Curry my type but he really sells it as a mad scientist with a wiener name.

Curry is so so incredibly great in Legend. the Botin effects makeup is amazing but there so few actors who can impose THEIR character choices on prosthetics that elaborate. it’s really remarkable

in addition to his lovely work in Red Alert 3, Curry did the voice over for the first Gabriel Knight game using a delightfully ridiculous Louisiana bayou accent.

He makes Darkness sexy! Under all those prosthetics. Amazing.
