I beat my personal best for my lunchtime run today. 28'52" for 4 miles. Not lightning quick, but I am a grey panthXOR after all.

What PB's have you beaten recently?

Oh I see. I do not know if Pete is implying that I regularly beat him or what. If not that then he is on crack and wibbling as per.

Actually maybe he is referring to the fact that he once claimed he could run 800m in under 2 minutes. Once we (flatmates) had picked ourselves up off the floor & stopped larfing we challenged him to prove this at Finsbury Park running track. This was about 3 years ago and he has yet to do it. DO IT PETE.

I could have been a container.

the posters for "personal best" featured my favourite evah bet-he-wishes-he-hadn't-written-that filmcrit-pullquote, in which neil norman was drooling over the (lesb) sex scenes in giant letters on every tube-station (i can no longer remember exactly how he phrased it)

next best wz barney hoskyns quoted saying "wheel me out laffing" for some eddie murphy nonsense

The 800 metre world recd is 1:41. The women's British recd (Kelly Holmes) is 1:56.

Get those running shoes on Pete!

My mate Rob has a PB of 10.4 for the 100 metres. He beat Linford Christie in the English Schools in 1970-something. I think he was third and Linford 4th.

One of my closest work colleagues is a serious triathlete. He and another colleague both ran the London Marathon this year. The next day, I walked into work and immediately started moaning about being tired after having to walk all the way from Tottenham Court Road (well under the 800m mentioned above!). It was quite funny at the time, but tragically was not far from the truth - I need a good sit down after walking that sort of distance. I'd say that my life is a ruin, except that might kick off a major trademark dispute.
