one of my flatmates does the above, and i ask what it is, but i don't understand what she says. i end up none the wiser.

Oh God, one of my sister's friends did this. I assume it's scary.

I've never heard of this. It sounds like just the thing I need though. Where do I sign my worldly goods (all £18.62 of them) away?

Essence=deodourant

Training=working out

Summit=going up a mountain

Outlook=the view

Hmmm, I don't know either?

Is this like EST or something?

BTW, we had our day-long morale boosting retreat on Friday, and we saw the film of "Who Moved My Cheese". I was trying *so* hard not to laugh when they talked about "sniffing the cheese" regularly to make sure it hadn't gotten "old". And they kept repeating it - "remember to sniff the cheese!"

It sounds like a self-help program she's too ashamed to admit to.

There is no reference to this on the interweb so I think you have totally made it up.

there is no reference on the web. but that is because, with such vague names, too many results come back. The 4 things are not, or maybe they are, necessarily linked. So, seaching for "Outlook" isn't exactly very easy. My suspicion is that the above are forms of self- help/personal development things with *spiritualist* overtones. but i do not know. i do know that it makes me feel uneasy.

Sounds a bit like the Landmark Forum, a large group awareness program that has its roots in EST and which "aims to help people transform their lives by teaching them specific communication and life skills along with some heavy philosophical training", according to the Sceptics Dictionary.

Certainly, Tom, things that don't exist on the interweb DO NOT EXIST AT ALL.
