I hate the new transformers

If you like digimon so much, wouldn't you just watch digimon? rather than some retarded version of what was a cartoon done in a completely different style? get rid of the filler transformations, the pratfalls, and the saying-your-special-move-as-you-do-it (what the fuck was wrong with robots firing guns anyway?) and it would be a great cartoon.

oh, and i've only seen one episode, what's up with the predicons? are there three factions now? and how come there's scurge and megatron, BUT NO STARSCREAM? OR SOUNDWAVE?

Also, optimus prime sounds gay.

Trash: yelling "TRANSFOOOOOORM" instead of making that cool robot noise that was sampled and scratched and beatbox-impersonated by many a rap star.

Also trash: generic-ass cars. Wheeljack and Bluestreak were cool because you knew they were a Lancia Stratos or a Datsun Z. What the hell is that yellow muscle car Autobot supposed to be? It looks like an early '70s Mazda RX-3 with fetal alcohol syndrome.

Super evil trash: Giving Megatron a fucking Dragonball character-looking face.

I was showing my flatmate's 10 year old daughter and her friends my late-80s Transformers picture book thingie last weekend. These kids were practically laughing at me for having such ridiculously 'incorrect' Transformers information, declaring "Optimus Prime isn't a truck, he's a fire engine!" and staring blankly at all the actually interesting, character-developed [ha ha] decepticons.

Oh, they don't name episodes after Deep Purple lyrics anymore, either. Unequivocable duds all round.

well the new transformers, I assume you mean Robots in Disguise (RID), is being replaced already by Armada, which is more of an American led venture, as Takara is producing Web Diver (a sort of interactive transformers/computer game thing). I quite like the RID toys, but haven't seen the cartoon. I really want Black Convoy (I think he is Scourge in the US).

The most classic thing transormers thing I've got this year is a video of Japanese epidoses...coz when the Headmasters (hehe) came along there were cartoons produced specifically for Japan, so the Japanese headmaster robots have little robots that transform into heads as opposed to Nebulons.

NO STARSCREAM ??
Thats awful. I've not seen this new transformers yet, when is it on (in UK) ?
I still have my 3 Autobot toys, Bumblebee (special gold edition), Brawn, and Beachcomber. The old cartoon introduction clip was magnificent. Such a pitty it was hosted by Timmy 'I'm utterly annoying because my voice is so high pitched and whiney and it's only 7:30 in the morning' Mallet.

fox kids 7:30 am on Sundays (last time I checked a couple of months back).

Starscream is in armada. (not as he was though)

I don't know why that Autobot just then had to announce "Shoulder thrust!", it seemed fairly clear that's what he was doing. Also they mention their names too often. "Optimus Prime!" "AUTOBOTS!" Dude we KNOW.
