johnny crunch, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:34 (twelve years ago)

in case you all didn't know, i feel like i should mention that she has the same birthday as tom delonge

markers, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:35 (twelve years ago)

60-70% - women live longer than men, and she's a few years younger than me, but it seems like her lifestyle may be quite stressful

Mordy, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:39 (twelve years ago)

really depends when she starts her drug habit

iatee, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:42 (twelve years ago)

Please let me know when the "consider the likelihood that betty white will predecease you" poll goes up. Make me feel young.

clemenza, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:45 (twelve years ago)

don't see her having a 'druggy phase'

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:47 (twelve years ago)

She was born 2 years (minus 2 days) after me so she only barely has an advantage in terms of age. She almost definitely lives a more stressful life than me but she seems a lot healthier -- I have a chronic illness and I don't know if my liver can ever fully recover from the shit I put it through in the first half of my twenties -- so I'm gonna say 80-90%.

if someone here is willing to just assassinate taylor swift it will make this easier, also will improve ilx

iatee, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:54 (twelve years ago)

not if markers gets so sad he stops posting

up all night to get bitcoins (crüt), Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:55 (twelve years ago)

well someone's gonna have to post youtube on the rip thread

iatee, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:56 (twelve years ago)

i was born the same year as taylor swift, and i ate kale today so... i'm not going anywhere.

Pat Finn, Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:18 (twelve years ago)

It's really unlikely that I would survive her, unless she has some sort of Aaliyah style accident.

The last of the famous international Greyjoys (Nicole), Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:34 (twelve years ago)

her middle name is Alison? I didn't know that.

is that an 80-90% chance that she'll predecease you, or that you'll predecease her? I think you have it backwards.

(also, damn dude :( hope you're treating yourself better these days)

Taylor Allison, I know this world is killing u.

something of an astrological coup (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:41 (twelve years ago)

I voted 10-20% because I'm a man and I'm 1.5 years older than Taylor, but that was before I researched her life:

http://familypedia.wikia.com/wiki/Taylor_Alison_Swift_(1989)

she doesn't seem to have great genes -- both grandmothers died at 73/74. maybe she'll take after her 96-year-old great-grandma Bernice, and maybe they'll find a cure for whatever her grandmothers died of (unless they suffered from an incurable illness called "tour bus crash"), but I definitely have the advantage in terms of family history. on the other hand, I'm a miserable fuck whereas she seems to live life to the fullest, and she's rich enough and determined enough to get top-notch medical treatment if something goes wrong. I'd put the odds at 20-30% if I could vote again.

i've always had a strong, intuitive feeling that i will live past the age of 100, but maybe this is just, like, a youthful sense of immortality.

Pat Finn, Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:45 (twelve years ago)

Not only am i confident of outliving her, i'm calling cause- disembowelled in freak corsetry malfunction at vma 2021

i think taylor's noted glue sniffing habit is going to catch up to her eventually. someone needs to tell her that ruining her health is NOT. PUNK.

Pat Finn, Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:53 (twelve years ago)

Its ok her ppl make sure the cap always stays on

privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:55 (twelve years ago)

it is unlikely that i would have to live in such a diminished world

haha yeah I did; in my deliberation I forgot how exactly the question was being phrased. I meant 10-20%. WHOOPS!

I am imagining a brief moment of nursing home clarity when I hear the news & try to persuade my carer to bump this thread on my behalf

ogmor, Saturday, 13 April 2013 02:04 (twelve years ago)

i don't like taylor swift at all, but it is bumming me out to contemplate her death.

kinda seems to me like the miserable fucks live the longest?

Mordy, Saturday, 13 April 2013 03:03 (twelve years ago)

i think the "longevity gap" between the genders is cultural/lifestyle related, for the most part. also, according to this study, it's closing. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/47466204/ns/health-mens_health/t/american-men-finally-closing-longevity-gender-gap/#.UWjbF4JAsbU i still expect to outlive taylor swift even though i'm slightly older than her. i know the trend on this thread has been to be self-deprecating about your health, but really, i feel amazing.

Pat Finn, Saturday, 13 April 2013 04:14 (twelve years ago)

I already beat out Allyiah, don't see why I can't best TS too.

that's the spirit. i feel like people should look at outliving taylor swift as a goal for health/fitness motivation.

I don't see that it matters. Taylor along with everything else will cease to exist when I do.

we'll keep you alive forever then

markers, Saturday, 13 April 2013 18:41 (twelve years ago)

you can count on us

markers, Saturday, 13 April 2013 18:41 (twelve years ago)

The 35 year age difference between us is likely to prove decisive here.

Aimless, Saturday, 13 April 2013 18:41 (twelve years ago)

Juliet will out last myself, her Romeo, by 30-60 seconds.

cougars and sneezers (Eazy), Saturday, 13 April 2013 19:07 (twelve years ago)

she's almost five years younger than me and men in my family don't tend to make it far beyond 50, i think she has the upper hand here. :/

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Wednesday, 17 April 2013 00:01 (twelve years ago)

I'm eight years older and have never had health insurance, with little chance of having it soon in a useful form - 5% chance I outlive her at best.

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Wednesday, 17 April 2013 00:37 (twelve years ago)

Is she one of these pop princesses who duz the drugs?

Pope Rusty I (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 17 April 2013 00:40 (twelve years ago)

i think this would be a more interesting question if you asked whether or not taylor swift would postdecease you

乒乓, Wednesday, 17 April 2013 00:45 (twelve years ago)

surprised markers hasn't said 'at the same time' yet

i feel like people should look at outliving taylor swift as a goal for health/fitness motivation.

no (Lamp), Thursday, 5 March 2015 14:22 (ten years ago)

It's possible. If she lives to the average U.S. female life expectancy of 78.7, I will only need to make it to 99 to outlive her. Not even triple digits -- totally doable.

something of an astrological coup (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 5 March 2015 16:33 (ten years ago)

likelihood or fervent wish

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Thursday, 5 March 2015 16:33 (ten years ago)

assuming you are a 45-year-old American man, tipsy, you have about a 3.1% chance of making it to 99 (http://www.ssa.gov/oact/NOTES/as120/LifeTables_Tbl_7_1970.html)

Taylor Swift, as a 25-year-old American woman, has about a 72.6% chance of making it to 79 (http://www.ssa.gov/oact/NOTES/as120/LifeTables_Tbl_7_1990.html)

actuarially speaking, you don't stand a chance

dichtgekitte discman (unregistered), Thursday, 5 March 2015 17:35 (ten years ago)

the popularity of taylor swift's music is likely to predecease taylor swift the human.

billstevejim, Thursday, 5 March 2015 18:17 (ten years ago)

probability that Taylor Swift will predecease me approaches 1 at the same time (& from the opposite direction) as does the number of remaining parachutes/lifevests/etc -- sorry taylor, your music has brought happiness to many people but you're no Archers of Loaf

bernard snowy, Thursday, 5 March 2015 18:33 (ten years ago)

I don't see that it matters. Taylor along with everything else will cease to exist when I do.
