gentlemen

(and those whom have had the pleasure of acquaintance with gentleman)

from where do you procure your lathering supplies?

healthful skin and good complexion desired

i seek body washes of quality and distinction, but not pecuniary excess

moreover, rarity and distinction are desirable. no quotidian pears, dial, gillette, dove, or nivea

yrs,

soda, desperately in need of a good lather

i've never been into soap. i think i have like old spice body wash in my shower right now but i don't even know. is it dangerous for your skin to use cheap soap that's full of chemicals?

Treeship, Monday, 13 May 2013 03:09 (twelve years ago)

nobody is 'into' soap, i dont think, but many ppl use it while washing

99.44 imo

mookieproof, Monday, 13 May 2013 03:17 (twelve years ago)

We are told that Ivory Soap is "99 and 44/100% pure." What's in the other 56/100% (or if 0.56% if you prefer)?

You're not the first to wonder. Actually it consists of "foreign and unnecessary substances," by which I suppose they mean, for example, Dudley Moore.

best soap i've ever had. may cross the line into pecuniary excess, but worth it.

^ said to be "vanilla tea" scented, but smells like caramelized smoke

controversial vegan pregnancy (contenderizer), Monday, 13 May 2013 03:26 (twelve years ago)

I use this. It is just excellent soap. Lathers well. No fragrance (but smells a bit soapy). One bar lasts about 4x longer than a bar of Ivory soap. Costs me about a buck a bar, on sale.

I am shamefully totally sold on the new guard of old spice actually. In particular the champion and swagger options.

Please note, I have been a snobby soap user in the recent past, and was a dr bronner peppermint user for like 3 years,

Yeah, I took a whiff of once of these because I figured with names like those, they'd probably make me smell like gin or something, but one of them smelled like Smarties.

Proraso shaving stuff is fantastic but i rarely see it outside of Italy.

I get everything else from Korres (ordered direct from Greece at less than half the price elsewhere) but their solid soaps can be a little hard. Molton Brown are a good bet.

хуто-хуторянка (ShariVari), Monday, 13 May 2013 12:14 (twelve years ago)

I just use Original Source stuff for everything - cheap, readily available in the UK, smells good, no animal ingredients. Never use the black peppermint shower gel on yr privates though, did it once and it felt like someone had set fire to my balls.

dschinghis kraan (NickB), Monday, 13 May 2013 12:21 (twelve years ago)

Find the original source stuff too 'thin'

controversial vegan pregnancy (contenderizer), Tuesday, 14 May 2013 03:21 (twelve years ago)

I was always fond of oatmeal soap -- it has that nice slight scratchiness too it that really invigorates the skin. Yardley is a pretty good name brand non-expensive one. Doesn't come in particularly manly packaging if that's what you seek.

THIS IS NOT A BENGHAZI T-SHIRT (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 14 May 2013 03:33 (twelve years ago)

I usually just get giant things of whatever is cheap at costco, but I'm really sick of the shittiness of irish spring.

THIS IS NOT A BENGHAZI T-SHIRT (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 14 May 2013 03:33 (twelve years ago)

Irish Spring leaves behind the most horrible soapscum ever, and I and others bathtub cleaners have banned it from our homes.

quincie, Tuesday, 14 May 2013 04:08 (twelve years ago)

lever, the other thing usually cheap, is like half a notch better but not great. I refuse to use ivory, it just disintegrates.
