you can, but it alerts the sender, also it's a tad more tricky bcz you have to keep one finger on the screen

It sounded dumb at first but I've gotten really into it. It's an extremely brilliant concept, the idea of taking something that by its nature is permanent and archival and then turning it into something more akin to a phone call or verbal communication that just *disappears* as soon as its done. It makes you think about things in a really different way, you don't really second-guess things, and I find myself sharing a lot more stuff than I would ever bother to like take an actual picture of and text someone (and because you willingly participate in it, it's not like having to put up w/ someone who is constantly texting stupid unsolicited/unwanted pictures)

It sorta gives you the opportunity to send people kinda unimportant things that you'd still wanna share with them and strips away the whole "this is dumb why did he document this and send it to me" thing; it's a totally different context where it becomes engaging on a different level

even though it's an app it feels too similar to bridging the chat / phone divide which i gave up doing years ago along with, like, manhunt and never looked back. i have never used grindr et al. pretty much every time something asks if it can use my physical location i say no. i'm old lol
