Seeing as how the real one is, and that.

I wld immediately think "I only know the Music Liberation Orchestra alb - which one were you in the unidentified group lineup?"

HAH!! He's the one who looks like Ian McCaskill with a goatee.

Andrew - "Escalator" of course, also Shepp's "Mama Too Tight" and several fine albums with Paul Bley and Dave Brubeck.

According to this month's Wire he's also appeared on records by Bob Dylan and George Clinton?????

Hey Marcello I just googled him and founded a surprisingly large discog for him - he's also on a Fugs alb, and 'I Am The One' by Annette Peacock, which I remember you mentioning somewhere else recently.

Shamefully I've never heard 'Escalator Over The Hill'.

I can't stand that Tyler Perry

He does seem like a quintessential new york hipster jazz figure.

He was part of the early New York jazz LSD scene centred around Dave Solomon of Metronome magazine, whose further adventures were quite interesting:

Bill Dixon often spoke of how the clarinet was his least favorite instrument, but that he loved Perry's playing.
