its funny ever since i had kids my taste for horror almost disappeared. and i love(ed) horror movies. i didn't care what they were, i'd watch them. i didn't really give a shit about anything before i had kids though.

that was weird seeing james gandolfini as the burnt-out hit man. downing drinks and being wasted basically. in Killing Me Softly. that movie wasn't so hot, but watchable. very indie-rock kinda crime movie. brad pitt will never be scary to me. all the obama/bush soundbytes were weird. like, i get it, man.
i don't get why bruce willis kept saying he was on vacation. he wasn't on vacation. he went to russia to get his son. for some reason it really bugged me that the whole plot was set up by bruce fucking up his kid's black ops. the fx were cool though. that director got to show off.
that predators movie didn't have a plot. and it wasn't very scary. someone talented could have totally made that scary.
and okay in the end of no country for old men was that josh brolin who smashed into killer dude's car? i couldn't tell. i didn't like the ending. i was promised a confrontation and i didn't get one. bad ending! and one too many crusty old timer stories. but it looked cool and i loved the deliberate way everyone moved and did things. i liked that it looked real but it was totally unlike most real life. that's what movies are good at.

Killing Them Softly would have been vastly improved without Brad in it and also the overdone wise-ass obama/bush sermonising. But there is still a lot to like about it.

I could imagine Brad feeling so pleased with his last monologue before the credits and feeling like he nailed it. He ruined the whole movie for me.
