like i said on other thread, much if not most of the legislation that has been proposed and passed by the wisconsin governor/ legislature/senate since their takeover in 2011 has been a close copy of ALEC "model" legislation

ALEC is particularly dangerous since they produce a ton of functional legislation that many of the idiot ideologues voted into office would not have the ability or resources to produce by themselves. making a republican takeover of a state gov't even more dangerous than it might have been.

obv ALEC has a right to do what they do (both liberals and conservatives have long had think tanks doing similar things) but I think the particular confluence of concentrated monied interests comprising a single organization crafting model legislation for every state in the union makes an esp. clear/strong case for bought/sold nature of "representative" gov't.

some leftish types have made this all out to be a Conspiracy and have started synching their spooky theremin music but ALEC is fairly above-ground so I don't think that's necessary. they are no less pernicious for not being clandestine.
