in which of the following historic counties of england do you currently reside?

for pinpoint accuracy, please check this sick overlay of a 1790 map of england & wales.

yorkshire is divided into ridings because it's huge. protest about my method is encouraged.

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 22:46 (twelve years ago)

surrey is home to many very, very unsavoury and shit things but it does have a few pleasant commons, cobham espesh

i think surrey has the highest percentage of wooded land in h'england, a vaguely implausible half remembered factoid

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0c/County_Flag_of_Nottinghamshire.svg/640px-County_Flag_of_Nottinghamshire.svg.png
The Nottinghamshire flag is the flag of the county of Nottingham. Andy Whittaker, of BBC Nottingham, organized the vote following a suggestion by two of his listeners, Jane Bealby and Mike Gaunt. The final design was made up of elements from the designs submitted by a number of people to the radio station for consideration as the new county flag.

The flag includes a red St George's Cross on a green background, and a green silhouette of Robin Hood on a white shield.

The pantone colours for the flag are:
Green 364
White
Red 186

Meh. I prefer the flag for Notts County Council:

emil.y, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 22:49 (twelve years ago)

yeah the bedfordshire flag is a bit psych and definitely not painful to look at; its shitness isn't unpleasant, hence its inexpressibility - it just seems to be of no consequence, a squiggle signifying an afternoon's tedium resolved. "that'll do. it has red, yellow and waves." "we're landlocked tho with basically 0 rivers and a couple of canals" "we may all dream. have 3 fairies down the middle" "deal"

God yeah, that Notts County Council flag is far superior to the "official" flag (which incidentally, I've never seen before despite actually living in Nottinghamshire for ages)... is the County Council flag meant to represent the Major Oak?

golf predominates more towards the western wentworth virginia water end, the rest of surrey has probably the same golf course density as hertfordshire

i am in fact aware of much of this woodland as i have traipsed it during numerous ornithological excursions which practically defined my youth, just wanna get the surrey zings in early and hard

the northumberland flag might be my secret favourite because of its complete refusal of finesse to the point that it looks like it was designed by someone w/ no hands

The 'official' one seems to be a very modern invention, I think wiki said 2011? County Council would be the major oak, yeah.

i grew up in Staffs, the south is still a lot of commuter territory for the West Midlands i guess and we do not speak of the north but yeah lots of modern farming. Cannock Chase is excellent walking territory.
