for me (and many British-ers i'm sure) this show had a Pavlovian gloom factor, as it used to be shown every Sunday around 4 in the afternoon in the 1980s so the title sequence immediately brings on that queasy "undone Maths homework" vibe.

One of the best theme songs (by Paul Williams/Charles Fox) and opening credit graphics ever!

Like the way different starring actors/actresses were shuffled around for almost every show, and the intertwined plot lines each with a different tone.

It fooled me :( Seems a really odd gag to make - like, it's not funny as a joke at all, it's only funny if it's real.

It is kind of funny because you could probably go back and find a real ad starring the guy from Starky & Hutch shilling for Soul Smells or something.
