I have a pretty good handle on "classic" LA lit, but what's some stuff from the last 20 years or so. There was Zeroville, that Lethem book, the latest Pynchon, Boyle's books about the Channel Islands, might as well throw that Denis Johnson noir in there (though it obviously doesn't really count). And Vollmann had Imperial. What else is good?
(Also, I don't feel like making another thread, but let me know if you know a good nonfiction book about the contras in Nicaragua.)
