voted day as well. i used to consider myself a night person, but i think that was more about enjoying unstructured time and hating the feeling of being obligated to do stuff, like go to class or work. now i realize that early mornings can be good for those things too.

Treeship, Thursday, 29 August 2013 02:47 (twelve years ago)

Day. Sunshine.

Jeff, Thursday, 29 August 2013 02:49 (twelve years ago)

also, staying up really late when you have stuff to do the next day has its drawbacks. those stolen hours are always poisoned by the knowledge that you will be really tired the next morning.

Treeship, Thursday, 29 August 2013 02:49 (twelve years ago)

i'm a mental day person but a biological night person, it's inconvenient. if i could sleep from something like 1am to 8am i'd be so good at life and stuff, but i mess everything up by being awake till dawn every night.

Oh, the night is my world
City light painted girl
In the day nothing matters
It's the night time that flatters

brimstead, you take my self-control.

Voted day but now that i think about it i should vote night. Night feels like the neutral state, like a bubbling stream underneath the active life of day. Always flowing. Plus certain hours late in the night seem to follow different laws of time. The hours right before sunrise seem to pass in a much faster, less concrete way.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:29 (twelve years ago)

Darkness is older than light, too. It's that way in pretty much all religions.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:31 (twelve years ago)

Though in line with science, maybe light preceded shadow a la the Big Bang? Is light the ultimate state?

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:32 (twelve years ago)

I like to sleep. I also like to be awake. Too many choices. Can you narrow it down a bit and start a new poll, plz?

Aimless, Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:33 (twelve years ago)

It is sad to see the sun go down.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:34 (twelve years ago)

you have to choose aimless. life is about picking sides and not asking questions.

Treeship, Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:34 (twelve years ago)

How about Dusk vs. Dawn?

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:36 (twelve years ago)

i'm not that into either of these

how's life, Thursday, 29 August 2013 11:25 (twelve years ago)

at one time i would have said night, mostly as a statement of spiritual affinity and general alignment. to be "of the night" with all that implies. but i went walking in the forest the other night under a full moon, something i used to love, and found that my vision has deteriorated to the point where i can no longer really see the rooms among the trees. its all just depthless murk now.

IIIrd Datekeeper (contenderizer), Thursday, 29 August 2013 12:04 (twelve years ago)

Night. Sleep, dark, cool, stars.

contenderizer has a good point about night vision, though. Actually that's another pro - I can't see to drive at night so no driving.

carl agatha, Thursday, 29 August 2013 12:52 (twelve years ago)

Fucking night, man...

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 29 August 2013 13:13 (twelve years ago)

More things I like to do happen at night, sometimes it's like I wait all day for night to happen...but despite that, the sun and daylight are my favorite thing.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Thursday, 29 August 2013 13:31 (twelve years ago)

It's hard for me to have positive feelings about the sun when it's been in the 90s all week. I appreciate that I need the sun to live, but I would prefer not to be exposed to it beyond what's absolutely necessary to avoid rickets.

I'm shocked at these results based on posts in the thread.

carl agatha, Monday, 2 September 2013 14:59 (twelve years ago)

there is probably some overlap between lurkers and children of the night
