Has this ever happened you? It's pretty unpleasant.

it happened to me once years back while having a bath. it's not fun. i was expecting a psychopath to come in with a chain-saw and a toaster. instead my mum (it really was years back) said "the power's gone. i've left a torch outside the bathroom door for you."

Not as bad as that time in the college dorms when I was in the shower and the fire alarms went off.

that's tough j.lu. it would seem kind of weird to get out of the shower at that point.

not as bad as the time i was in college dorms when i was in the bath with my girlfriend and the fire alarms went off. especially when i realised that the alarms were going off because i'd overfilled the bath and water had gone straight through the floor (doing thousands of pounds of damage) and into the alarm box.

dude! that sounds like one of the plots to those adventures of a window cleaner films!

yep. it all got a bit less funny when it was on the front of the college newspaper + i got kicked out of my room + fined a substantial three figure sum. it did me good in the long run, though (but that's another story...).

last night there was a 12 hour power cut, and i needed lights to study for a test today and i couldnt find the candles. so i just went to sleep. i wasn't in the shower tho.

Yes. And because I hadn't paid the electric bill. Although, I find showering by candlelight or flashlight in an actual blackout to be kind of neat.
