I've lied about having done a drug to a) my parents b) security staff; been pretty open about it to others, when it's come up. somehow don't think any of those people think I'm cool.

I lied to a dealer about being on drugs and consequently he didn't force me to take his drugs, as dealers do, and what's more I lived to post this tale

no - I'm a horrible liar and I feel guilty about even slight misrepresentations. I've only done weed and that's the story I tell.

Merdeyeux in the US weed is a schedule 1 drug, and whether it comes from DARE or elsewhere, they present marijuana usage as if it is this life-wrecking gateway drug that will lead you off the rails. I once had an assignment in TYPING class where we had to reproduce this long-assed article fortelling a "Reefer Madness"-esque girl's 'fall from grace' due to weed and while it was supposedly a true story, it read like a tabloid.

ah okay, that sounds familiar, though I think the UK approach has steered away from that for quite a while now. In educational terms it's been more of a down-with-the-kids approach, sure bad drugs are bad, but other drugs, well, only losers do drugs, do you wanna be a loser?

I have never tried any drugs besides alcohol and have never lied about. All my friends know precisely how uncool I am anyway.

I'm sort of struggling to think if I know any ppl in my day to day life who haven't done drugs or who think weed is any kind of deal.

A couple of my friends don't touch them but are totally cool about it.

i didn't smoke weed until i was 18. i think i lied about it before then to seem cool.

i seem to remember trying weed several times when i was 15 (16?) and not realizing any kind of effect. like at all. i sorta thought my idiot friends were embellishing, if not outright lying, about their experiences.

I definitely didn't get a proper high at all my first few times. even now I never seem to get the same highs everyone else gets (yes I do inhale), but I've started to feel some of the...noted effects.

I can't imagine smoking the shit every day, but it is fun every now and then.

(this would've have been ditch weed in the mid 90s, none of that high times centerfold ish)

yeah first few times in college i felt nothing, then one time i felt that my friend had run over someone with his car, then the next few times i felt an introverted sort of bliss and music sounded amazing, then one time i felt absolute horror to the point where i think i had a legitimately traumatic experience. most of the time now i feel a subtle sense of emptiness or despair that is not always unwelcome, weird as that sounds. it doesn't really agree with me i guess.

i was offered it once but declined because i was in an unfamiliar neighborhood and wanted to keep my wits about me. good thing too because the friends i was with -- who i was staying with and whose apartment i had never been to before -- nearly left without me.

I have told ppl I was with that I didn't have any more drugs cause i didn't wanna give them any. Feel ok about this lie

i just lied about why i didn't accept the mdma. while i definitely wanted to keep my wits about me i also was legitimately afraid of being one of those people on the news who die from a single dose.

haha that's why I never took it when I've had the chance to. also I hate speedy drugs. and pills. and powders.

it probably would have been really good for me tho. i even had a shrink once offer once to put me in touch with a psychologist who still used it in therapy...

I used to be so squeamish about drugs. For a huge part of my life I wouldn't even take OTC meds.

I haven't taken MD in pill form for maybe seven years.

Kind of weirdly miss the squeamish intense come-up you used to get with a lot of eccy pills.

Till I was like 13 I couldn't even swallow pills; now I take them far too readily, ignore directions &c.

I don't do any drugs that speed things up. my resting heart rate already runs between 80-90 as it is.

I tend to handwave this stuff because it's what all my friends do and therefore it's clearly fine (peer pressure is real and deadly!) but it rarely crosses my mind at the pertinent moment that the stuff going up my nose probably isn't what was advertised

I went to a prep school that was drug city before they enacted a "zero tolerance" policy, which was surprisingly extremely effective because all the kids interested in drugs were expelled. Didn't really see drugs until college but summer jobs introduced me to kids who would talk about them, and this was novel to me. This was the time when I lied about having done drugs to seem cool.

i guess having a diverse club culture is part of this, in the sticks where i grew up there wasn't much of a club culture at all and if you did much in the way of drugs you were probably a bit of a scary reprobate, but yeah down here all of my perfectly respectable londoner friends have been at and are often still at a bit of everything.

Generally try and avoid k at all costs if I'm going to be in company / have been drinking heavily. The drinking thing makes for a spectacularly disastrous combo. In the comfort of your living room with a few like-minded mates it can definitely be very good fun.

everybody enjoys a disastrous k story so it's v noble of you brave boys to be out there accumulating them.

It's the only drug where I've ever had anything approaching a communal trip, usually when watching something on tv after which you all look at each other having each seen something bizarre and mind-bending and totally different but all convinced it's been a shared experience where everyone else has seen what you've seen and had the same insights you've had. This imo is a massive pro to be set against the numerous cons. But yeah, anytime someone mistakenly assumes that it's a good idea to a couple of keys in the club toilet you can usually just sit back and watch the slapstick tragicomedy develop from there

i never lied about taking drugs i never took. i had a reputation as a stoner from 6th grade until i left for college and hung out with my school's biggest druggie all the time, so most people thought i did a lot more drugs than i actually did.

Back in the 90s, I was trying to chat up a girl at a party who I knew to be a heroin user . I greatly exaggerated my experience with narcotics to her, although she did call me out when I finally admitted that I was talking about taking them in pill form or snorting them, rather than banging them up properly.
