I experienced Apes younger, so that one.

Only SW film I truly hate is that middle prequel though. And Empire may be the best of all the 13 films involved.

The thing is that Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back are really cool especially before goofball started re-editing them, but the rest of it kinda sucks.

Star Wars/Empire originals > Planet of the Apes

The thing I used to really like from the Planet of the Apes was the old TV show. I loved watching those as a kid especially when WGN would get crazy with it and show the whole series in a marathon across a couple of evenings. Those shows seem kind of slept on in the whole thing, as I remember liking them better than some of the later movies.

Morbs otm about The Empire Strikes Back; it's a beautiful looking movie, and whatever mythos Star Wars possesses the credit goes to Empire for humanizing Lucas' conceits.
