Where have they gone, those beautiful injokes of our youth?

- The Rule of Three seems to have fallen into tragic disrepair.
- N.'s magnificently frightening tyrannosaur .gif

Others??

Tom (Groke), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:44 (twenty-three years ago)

There aren't as many Pete/Emma fites.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:45 (twenty-three years ago)

or indeed Pete/Emma MONOBRANE, the antithesis of a fite shurely?

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't remember either of those two Tom!

There aren't enough Mike Hanle y posts/threads, especially the 'tart' ones.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:48 (twenty-three years ago)

We have started having physical fites instead of online ones.

Just to please Nicole: oi Baran you stink.

Emma, Friday, 4 October 2002 11:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Rule of 3 wasnt an injoke really it was a useful mechanism for thread creation.

You would remember the scary dinosaur if you saw it.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:50 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a positive correlation between the number of Hanle y posts and the number of Ally posts, so since she isn't posting anymore, well...

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

:-(

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

And that was probably the only picture you had of your birth mother, wasn't it N.?

The requested URL was not found on this server. Was all I got when I clicked on N's link!

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I know Mark - that was the heartbreak. But archive.org came to the 'rescue'.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 4 October 2002 11:58 (twenty-three years ago)

yay! I like the scary dino, I remember.

also, yeah I R remembering the rule of three.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Hammers, you stink stinkier. Out of the country with you I say.

The Rule Of Three in full - if someone or something is mention in three different threads a new c or d thread should be started about them.

The statscock has gone quiet of late I note.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I miss Kodanshi links.

felicity (felicity), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I cannot wait to get out of the country for my week of Canarian sun worshipping but you are so stinky I will probably be able to smell you from there. Also I must spend the weekend fitting a lock to my bedroom door in case my prolonged absence encourages you to go digging round in my knicker or bra drawers again.

Emma, Friday, 4 October 2002 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

damn, caught red-handed.

michael wells (michael w.), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

i was thinking of the mournful lack of theban horde comments the other day,

anthony easton (anthony), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:55 (twenty-three years ago)

i miss those crazy AIM chats - even though MC Ethong, Kandi Kolored Raver Boyeee Jess and Philo-Josh always ridiculed my poor English.

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 4 October 2002 13:16 (twenty-three years ago)

that dinosaur's from 3d monster maze on the zx81. back when computer games were computer games. none of this GTA3 lark.

never had a copy of 3d monster maze, just recognise it (after 20 years!) from the review pictures. had 3d defender though.

koogs, Friday, 4 October 2002 13:27 (twenty-three years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 4 October 2002 13:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Then there are the things that I don't miss. You know, like greenspun.com going down...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 4 October 2002 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

The first thing I did when I got to the library this morning was type www.greenspun.com awww.

Graham (graham), Friday, 4 October 2002 14:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham (graham), Friday, 4 October 2002 14:47 (twenty-three years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 4 October 2002 14:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 4 October 2002 18:42 (twenty-three years ago)

i. Thread hijacking.

ii. Pinefox correcting anthony's spelling. Though I suppose that died a natural death as almost everything anthony posts is spelled perfectly now.

I thought "Tom will email him" was some kind of code for "Nobody will ever email him oh well". You mean to say I should actually email him? ;)

(I suppose I have done before)

Tom (Groke), Friday, 4 October 2002 22:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Charo ripoffs.

Hi, Anthony! Boy, do I owe you an e-mail.

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 4 October 2002 23:18 (twenty-three years ago)

It's been a while since there was a really weird ILE weekend. I like to imagine the week day crew scratching their heads thinking "huh? what the hell is all this?".

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 5 October 2002 07:31 (twenty-three years ago)

that's bcz it used to be FORBIDDEN TO POST THREADS AT THE WEEKEND or something!!??

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 5 October 2002 08:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah but that was only on ILM. There used to be a rule that you could only post one thread a day and none at weekends.

Tom (Groke), Saturday, 5 October 2002 08:18 (twenty-three years ago)

A Good rule (half of it at least)

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 5 October 2002 08:21 (twenty-three years ago)

It's amazing to me that thread revival came to be so reviled when new thread creation seems to be what was hated before!

roxymuzak, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 13:28 (seventeen years ago)

two years pass...

It seems that ILX nostalgia ended two years ago with the spiderman strip and mysterio's gayness for all things spidey. For me, this seems apt,for though it was purile and bizzare, that spiderman strip made me laugh a lot, and I look back on it fondly. Does ILX reach the heady heights it once did? And obviously people could argue even back then, that it wasn't as good as it used to be.

I am generally an observer so am not best placed to say. But, returning to that spiderman strip, I am still trying to work the term "rape dollars" into a conversation. It is not an easy task, and I live in Bangkok! But when that day comes... oh boy, I don't know what to tell you.

The spidey thread has no link anymore, Spiderman but look on their works, ye mighty, and despair.
