has any film ever been nc-17 or unrated solely for violence and not sexual content?

ethan, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Fantastic! Belle & Sebastian have done half the soundtrack for Storytelling - I do hope they've done that bit.

Madchen, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

If you hack of a tit you get a pg 13
if you ashow a tit you get an R
Jack Nicholson.

anthony, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

actually i believe it was lenny bruce who had the monologue in the late 60s about how you could see a hacked-off dirty bloody tit in time but you had to get playboy to see clean beautiful tits. mind you, this is a point that bears repeating by everyone.

ethan, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and if you see a cock it is automaticlly NC 17

anthony, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No, if I see a cock, I usually get excited. hahaha Nevermind.

nathalie, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Julie Burchill actually got it right on this sex vs. violence thing - if an actress is shot on screen it only involves a blood pellet 'exploding', while a sex scene turns the actress into a prostitute.

this was the one james van deer dawson was in, but asked to be removed from (i think)...it's nothing, we've just had a kids book banned from an educational campaign cos it was called attack of the psycho bums. at least americans have first ammendment - i guess solandtz could pull the flick on thsoe grounds, but then he'd have to ask about jsutifying that on the basis of one scene etc...

I was really looking forward to this movie until Madchen dropped the B+S bombshell...
