I like Gavin and Marilyn's "wedding" pics better than Gavin and Gwen's. And Gavin was so much prettier then, he kind of looks like a young Sherilyn Fenn.

Oh Nabisco, you sweet youngster. ;-) Marilyn was part of the whole Philip Sallon/Boy George scene in London in the early eighties -- he had some hits in the UK but never crossed over to the States beyond a mention or two.

Marilyn in the "Do They Know It's Christmas" extended video is one of the most poignant pop moments ever. He gets all dolled up in his bright yellow football jersey and everyone shuns him! Except the Bananarama gals, bless them. And yet he really gives it his all! His pal George was too big a star at that point to hang around for the group chorus scenes.

I wonder if I'm the only one on IlX that owns Marilyn's Despite Straight Lines record. It's not bad, I tell you, not bad! The accepella version of "Baby You Left Me" is wonderful.

Gavin looks a bit like Greta Scacchi, too.
