Looking good, feeling fine

Spare me the C or D argument about diets in general - assuming I'm going to try it anyway, can anyone point me in the direction of a good one?

And exercise doesn't count - that's on my to do list already.

At the bottom.

Cut out processed foods . Simple enough , lost me 10 pounds.

Eat breakfast. Seriously. Also, smoking pot burns calories.

I need to find the recipe for the gunk Shaun Ryder used to blow up pigeons - that'd fill me up good 'n' proper

Okay, choose a medium-sized bowl. In the morning, fill with fruit. Pile it in. Have two slices of hot buttered toast. At lunchtime, fill it with salad (chicken salad, salad nicoise, really veggie salad) inc. ANY dressing or some sort of pasta dish. Drink lots of water and try to limit caffeine. At night, fill your bowl with some kind of homemade Asian dish with rice. Never, ever drink beer or eat potato snacks.

Actually, you can have anything so long as you fill the bowl for your three meals with whatever that is. If this does not fill you, drink water.

My current dieting tactic. Fruit in the morning, proper food at lunch, cereal at night. This also helps because I am too lazy to cook or buy food. Mind you I have only done this for 1 day so far.

This cutting out beer thing though, surely it misses out many of the major food groups.

I've never liked beer, if I have more than one (generally under duress at an opening) I get a massive headache. I've never been a tubba. Beer and diets, mutually exclusive, unless the beer necessitates the diet.

It's very difficult to avoid beer as a Minnesota adolescent but I managed.

Falafel's for breakfast, beer for lunch, gin for tea. I have started this diet today... Check back for regular updates.

Peaches for breakfast. Muffins mid morning. Sandwich for lunch. Bottle of wine for dinner. Bish bash bosh.

Current de-larding tactic = no beer on weeknights. This was working fine until last Saturday when my mind, crazed through five days of beer deprivation, made me drink previously unheard of (for me, at least) amounts of shit lager. This inevitably led to my making an arse of myself at Strange Fruit and a 48 hour hangover. I still don't feel quite right now.

Eat non-processed food. Try to cut down carbs. No sugar. As little fat as possible. Avoid nuts and dried fruits. No caffeine. In short: munch on a strawberry and you'll lose weight. Beware that weight does not go down gradually. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to go down in weight.Body needs to adapt to change in food intake.

Eat three meals a day, no chocolate, crisps or puddings and drink lots and lots of water. If you need to snack during the day, have part of your next meal. In other words, if lunch is a sandwich and a banana, have the banana mid morning and the sandwich at lunchtime. Try to train yourself to listen to your body (man) and only eat when you're hungry, not when you're bored. Only drink when you go out, never at home.

Throw up after each meal, you gorgeous skinny little thing with rotting teeth, you... Suzys diet sounds fun! Asian rice dish = CURRY/CHINESE TAKEOUT EVERY NIGHT!!!

Sarah, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Uh, homemade? Reading? Well... you make the act of um...eating it at home... shite, I'm going to have to learn how to make my own curries.

Sarah, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The idea is, reduce Arm Flab through chopping, stirring, etc. And the no MSG part is just a bonus (MSG mandatory in MY takeaways).

suzy, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No snacks or dessert. (It's killing me, but it works.)

Lyra, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Update on Falafel diet. Feeling great. Lunchtime beers pepped up the faint knawing hunger, and now I am too pissed to be hungry. Huzzah! Must write a book and coin it in.

Pete, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Try going psuedo-vegetarian: no chicken or beef or pork or turkey or FARM ANIMAL RUBBISH, but you are allowed some ocean creatures. They are better for you, they have special alpha-omega acid (or something like that) and they are FROM THE SEA and not from chemically engineered farms of evil. Or something like that, all I know is I lost weight doing that. But I hated chicken and beef and pork and turkey to begin with.

Ally, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...
well i've heard that a diet of raw beef works,-it introduces tapeworm into the gut."terry" as we'll call him then eats everything else... go to the doctor six months later for wormers unless of course one has already been unlucky enough to colapse from malnutrition.good luck!!
