My midpoint is on a farm in McComb, Ohio. I've lived/spent time in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Portland (OR), upstate New York, New Orleans, Tucson, and Italy.

New Orleans, Prague and SF triangulate to Hackleburg, AL for me. Oddly, not too distant from where my mom lives these days.

why is it surprising? it's a midway point b/t other places. if you have spent time in the midwest and in europe, you're likely as not to get a midpoint somewhere in the wilds of canada.

Fair point. I was born on a us army base in Germany and grew up as an army brat and moved around a bit till my dad left the service. Went to hs on south side of Chicago then college in Nh. Lived in jersey after I graduated and Atlanta the past two years. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by a weird midpoint.

Nine places, three states, and I've never strayed out of a 50-mile wide zone.

Rather remarkably, despite living in eight different reasonably far-flung cities (albeit all in Ontario), for periods ranging from two to eleven years, I've wound up in Saugeen Shores, Ontario, not half an hour from where I was born, even though I only spent two years there. And I've never lived within 200 miles of it since I was a toddler.

What a wasted life.

oklahoma is rough. nevada is possibly worse, depending on how much mileage you get out of vegas. i am not a fan of nebraska, either. grand island was the most depressing city i've ever been in.

My midpoint is a place about 4 miles NNE of the summit of Mt Hood. I find this poetically correct.
