Better Holiday Treat Beloved By Chinese People: Ferrero Rocher or Almond Roca

Man I used to be really into Ferrero Rochers but lately I'm feeling Almond Rocas more

Feel like the explosion of Nutella into America's public consciousness has made the Ferr somewhat irrelevant

But Almond Roca's, Man

It's funny how perception/taste shifts as you age -- I used to think Ferrero Rocher was some kind of ultraluxury brand and now it seems kind of like whitman's sampler or something.

I think I have to turn in my Chinese card, I don't even know these.

Leeee don't worry just go to your nearest Asian supermarket, I guarantee you they'll have both of these

Once you've done so report back to me and I will stamp your Chinese card

They'll probably have different versions too. The rectangles and the heart shaped ones and the pyramids

乒乓, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 00:16 (eleven years ago)

I mean, the packaging. All the Ferreros are the same. At the checkout you'll have an opportunity to buy the three pack for a dollar

Judging by the packaging, none of these look appetizing. :\

Judging by the packaging?

Aimless, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 00:53 (eleven years ago)

I just had two Almond Rocas

The worst is a stale Ferrero Rocher. There's no crunch

乒乓, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 01:00 (eleven years ago)

Dayo we clearly do not agree on fast food, but we agree on the second-rate holiday candies. Roca ftw!

quincie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 10:41 (eleven years ago)

never had Rocas, voting for them cos Ferrero Rocher are lame

you're gettin' there tho (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 10:44 (eleven years ago)

You are entirely correct.

quincie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 10:46 (eleven years ago)

Voted for Almond Roca, because in the UK Ferrero Rocher are a bit commonplace and not really considered special. They're the kind of thing you buy when you're going to see relatives and can't be bothered to get anything nice. Also the over-exposure of this advert.

And they're sold all year round here, so not really a 'holiday treat'.

We get our Ferreros from Sam's Club or Costco. I don't think I've ever had Almond Rocas.

Nhex, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:43 (eleven years ago)

I'd just buy a jar of Nutella #euroILXor

Feel bad for the Chinese People if these are only consumed as holiday treats.

(voted Almond Roca but love each equally)

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:51 (eleven years ago)

a coworker told me she did her graduate work studying the rise of almond roca and got to walk around the factory and spend time there and i was like <3333 best factory tour ever i bet

anky, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:52 (eleven years ago)

i don't really care for Nutella, probly explains my Ferrero ambivalence

you're gettin' there tho (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:58 (eleven years ago)

By company tradition, a small amount of the original 1923 batch of toffee is carried over into each subsequent batch of candy.[5]

four years pass...

My mom loved both Almond Roca and Ferrero Rocher. She wasn't remotely Chinese, but she did have an easily pleased sweet tooth. I must say I'll eat either one, too, if they are given to me. Not too interested in buying them for myself, though, of the two, it's Almond Roca for me.
