new gay pin-up? (like ryan philip?)
and if he is not, who is it then?

erik, Sunday, 6 October 2002 14:50 (twenty-three years ago)

like there's only one!

(he is nice though)

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 6 October 2002 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

He looks like a farmer. And not even a cockfarmer, just a boring old farmer.

Nicole (Nicole), Sunday, 6 October 2002 22:07 (twenty-three years ago)

I think he looks silly. He's unworthy of the adoration he seems to receive from teen magazines.

liz! (liz!), Sunday, 6 October 2002 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

ho-hum

JC (JC A.), Sunday, 6 October 2002 23:05 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry.....who?

donna (donna), Sunday, 6 October 2002 23:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Josh Hartnett makes Leonard DiCaprio look like Ed Asner. This is not a compliment. To Josh Harnett, that is.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:08 (twenty-three years ago)

He's an absolute dreamboat. You should hear the punk rock tribute I've written about him, "Sit On My Face, Josh Hartnett". I hope he doesn't get all pumped up, although I'm sure he will. Those twinkly eyes! I loved the messy hair look he used to have, as well.

Sean (Sean), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:11 (twenty-three years ago)

he's gross. he'll be grosser when he's old and his face gets all bony and leathery and his little pig eyes dissappear into his cheekbones

gabriel rodriguez-doerr (gabe), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh come on. Not to your taste perhaps, but gross?

Sean (Sean), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Brad Renfro is the new Ryan Phillipe. Plus he's insane and trashy, so he's got that going for him. But I prefer Jake "Overexposed and I Don't Care" Gyllenhaal (he sent me an autographed photo for my birthday!!! I'm a 12-year-old girl!!! Wheee!!!) and hot Frenchy Stephane Rideau. Do you think Josh Harnett will ever have a normal haircut?

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 7 October 2002 01:21 (twenty-three years ago)

It's about this time I have to ask what Mr. Hartnett has done film or TV-wise -- or anything-wise, really. Never heard of him.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 October 2002 02:04 (twenty-three years ago)

*Wince*.... thank you, Google, for making the pain short.

I'm bitter only because I first heard about the guy via the "40 days and 40 nights" film, where the premise is, this kid has to GO WITHOUT SEX FOR 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS, because it's not fun, you see, and the guy is obviously SOOOO KUUUUUTE.

I hope my fists and his face never cross each other in the near future.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 7 October 2002 02:09 (twenty-three years ago)

He was cast perfectly in the Virgin Suicides, as was Mr. Phillipe in Gosford Park.

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 October 2002 02:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I forgot to mention one of the random tidbits I saw in the "40 days" fact sheet when scrolling through:

22. At the very beginning of his career, Hartnett unsuccessfully tried six times to be cast in "Dawson's Creek."

I think this explains much.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 7 October 2002 03:51 (twenty-three years ago)

saw him in O, where he's into the shirt/tie schooluniform

erik, Monday, 7 October 2002 06:55 (twenty-three years ago)

That "I tried to get/was cast on Dawson's Creek" thing might be a little bit of publicist's magic, it seems to be a common meme (trope?) in press kits / profiles lately (in The Face this month one of the actors from Kids says he got the gig from Dawson's Creek, which is impossible chronologically - Kids came out in '95, Dawson's debuts '98). It could be true though - James Van Der Beek and Josh Jackson are much better actors.

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 October 2002 07:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Arthur is quite right, Jake Glyllenhaal is the new Josh Hartnett. weird googlers, post here.

felicity (felicity), Monday, 7 October 2002 07:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I like Jake Gyllenhaal! Jason Schwarzman (who totally screwed up pulling out of Donnie Darko) + Tobey Maguire = Jake

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 October 2002 07:25 (twenty-three years ago)

josh h's voice is super dud. but even dudder is being MARRIED to reese witherspoon haha ryan phil.

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 7 October 2002 09:08 (twenty-three years ago)

farmers are v. attractive. i masterbate to mr harnett.

anthony easton (anthony), Monday, 7 October 2002 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

haha he looks like ex-Take That star Gary Barlow!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 7 October 2002 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

eh?! who, josh looks like barlow? you crazy!

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 7 October 2002 18:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes! He is hotter, sure, but they look pretty similar to me (I just visited the website above, so I don't know if the picture there misleads me).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 7 October 2002 20:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Jake Gyllenhaal = ROWR.

Jody Beth Rosen, Monday, 7 October 2002 20:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Maggie Gyllenhaal = ROWR

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 8 October 2002 01:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Have you seen Secretary, James? It seems a little too cutesy and ooh, provocative, but maybe that's just the trailer.

I do like Maggie Gyllenhaal, though.

Arthur (Arthur), Tuesday, 8 October 2002 01:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Nah, I just saw the trailer and I've read some profiles and my reaction was 'Yes! A Gyllenhaal for boys too! Everybody wins!' Great poster though.

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 8 October 2002 03:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I fancy him.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 8 October 2002 18:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Do we have to choose between Josh and Jake? That's hardly fair... but I choose Jake.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

i am not partic. a fan of Mr Hartnetts, but i do want to see O. is it any good?

katie (katie), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Another vote for Jake Gyllenhaal, please.

Ess Kay (esskay), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 12:13 (twenty-three years ago)

o is a bit of a no

erik, Wednesday, 9 October 2002 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

*googles* we're talking about the bubble boy?

boxcubed (boxcubed), Wednesday, 9 October 2002 17:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I think more people are focusing on Donnie Darko (I hope more people are focusing on Donnie Darko).

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 10 October 2002 03:05 (twenty-three years ago)

the faculty > donnie darko

jones (actual), Thursday, 10 October 2002 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought josh hartnett was hot until i noticed how much he looks like a younger version of george w. bush. grrs... another fantasy ruined. sean william scott, however, is even hotter, and HE doesn't resemble anyone evil, so...

freejeremy.diaryland.com, Thursday, 10 October 2002 17:46 (twenty-three years ago)

(all this choosing between darko and hartnett is pure nonsense btw - darko's on the cover of the latest iss.of "harmless boys mag" and hartnett isn't even in it, i just checked)

jones (actual), Thursday, 10 October 2002 18:13 (twenty-three years ago)

six years pass...

I can't believe I already wrote 'I fancy him' on this thread, which I was going to revive to ponder whether JH is actually attractive or not.

the pinefox, Monday, 12 January 2009 22:07 (sixteen years ago)

I think Brad Renfro is the new Ryan Phillipe. Plus he's insane and trashy, so he's got that going for him

;_;

velko, Monday, 12 January 2009 22:12 (sixteen years ago)

http://www.hotmencentral.com/josh_hartnett/pic19.shtml

wow - someone made poor JH take his clothes off in the middle of a highway.

the pinefox, Monday, 12 January 2009 22:39 (sixteen years ago)

two years pass...

With a different cast, Pearl Harbor would be considered a masterpiece.

discus

i mean what the hell happened to this guy?
