I see less than 5,000 users and over eleven million posts. I can only imagine the 80/20 curve for post count, etc.As a forum enthusiast who's very interested in BBS stats and culture, this seems unique. Am I wrong?

earnest, humorless response: the stats are a little misleading. I'm pretty sure accounts are deleted if they've been inactive for more than 6 months, so the "4,431 registered users" figure only includes active users. also, ilx formerly allowed unregistered users to post on certain boards, so the 4,431 figure doesn't account for those users either. the total number of unique users almost certainly runs in the tens of thousands.

yeah this place has existed since 2000 or so and the user database has been purged plenty of times
still, it's definitely got an abnormally low turnover rate for an internet message board, i started posting here in 2007 and the 'regulars' today are mostly the same people as back then.
