fire doors are mostly made of wood as i understand it, the point is to contain the available oxygen for a time rather than to be completely fireproof

I just disconnected them all. Removing the last screw from each of the plates results in an almighty BANG as it snaps into its partner. I nearly shit myself EACH TIME. Horrible things.
