Was tempted to sit up late last night and watch it on Sky at 1am when it broadcast, then remembered I had a life and had to get up in the morning. Will watch later though. Genuinely a bit stoked for this, even though it's basically been crap since about season 2.

Surprised they were still filming it last weekend, I somehow assumed it must have been in the can for months. Where was this?

Lincoln's Inn Fields. I assume it was a re-shoot of something or other.

Anyway, the scene was Jack running through traffic, I think he hit a taxi driver and got in his cab along with two injured women (one of whom was Hannah from Dexter). Couldn't really see for hedges and equipment and other cars in the scene.

There's quite a bit of backstory about Jack and Audrey from season 6 which is relevant.

Also I'm going to refrain from pointing out geographical inaccuracies from now on, just let me offer the highest praise to the taxi driver who can get someone from Charing Cross to a sprawling country estate in 7 mins.

I do like how it's a relatively unhollywoody portrayal of London so far though; council estates ('housing projects', heh), grotty pubs and underpasses and that.

I'm sure they said that they picked Jack up 20km South East of Central London, which would be ridiculous, so I must have misheard this.

Highly entertaining bobbins anyway, second episode especially. I like how it may as well not be in London at all.

Stephen Fry as the PM is not an intimidating prospect though, dunno why these guys are all cacking it.

Yeah can take the idea more seriously than Hugh Grant, but only marginally.

The depiction of "Parliament" (by which I guess they mean the House of Commons) was hilarious though

Just been watching Tate Donovan in the appalling 'Hostages' and Yvonne Strahovski in the appalling last seasons of 'Dexter' so I keep being surprised that this isn't as awful as those two. And Catelyn Stark!

It occurred to me last night when they were showing the refresher of scenes from the previous week at the beginning that when Jack shot protesters in the crowd he could've just as easily fired into the pavement without having to put bullets in people's legs. But that's Jack Bauer.

Our Jack, always makes sure the camera catches him giving people a sleepy neck cuddle or a very clearly non-lethal shot

DRONE CHASE

The scene where they swapped cars midway through DRONE CHASE was the one we saw getting filmed.

With three episodes left, I kind of feel like I'm getting shortchanged on the hoops they'd normally put me through to get to the reveal of the actual big bad.

Totally also forgot to mention that after noticing that DRONE CHASE was what we watched getting filmed, we rewound the scene and paused it frame by frame until, I think, we spotted ourselves lurking down the end of the road.

Also, Jack not bothering with the any of his usual torture/angst/respect/trying-to-reason-with-baddies shit and just lobbing Catelyn Stark out a window was brilliant. This whole series has just about justified the existence of the last half a dozen seasons of this. Agree needs more President Logan though. Also secretly hoping for some comedy Kim peril for old times' sake.

I LOVE THIS SHOW! It's the Russians! No, it's the Chinese dude from several years ago, conveniently plot-expositioned by Chloe! No, it's both of them! And the US chief submarine dude will blow shit up based on a fax with NO VERIFICATION PROCEDURE WHATSOEVER.

Of course, it just seems more hilarious/egregious when it's made by foreigners and set in your home town.

My personal brush with this was the 1986 movie 'Space Camp.' It was set in Huntsville, Alabama where the main Space Camp is located (and where I lived at the time), but the kids sneak out to go look at (and later launch) the space shuttle...which is 675 miles away in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It was a trip, in the movie, that only took a few minutes.

Heller's final scene was pretty tragic.

enjoyed this season enough overall but felt nothing for what happened in the last episode. Sutherland's reaction was good tho, as was the Prez's.

Just now got around to finale. Audrey's fate didn't really seem impactful, because Audrey's always been scenery. Was way more affected by Heller's final scene and the exchange of Chloe for Jack. I was suspicious when Fox announced they were doing another season, but it ended up being among the best.

This was pretty much the only season of 24 that got better as it went along rather than the worse, like all the others did. Probably best season since the first, maybe better? I can't rememeber anything they've done as good as that drone car chase.

I'm not going to believe they're never doing another one until I see Jack Bauer die on screen or Kiefer Sutherland dies in real life.

BTW, Jack's grief massacre on the boat was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.

Loved this, and how overblown it all was - who is Jack up against, is it the Islamists, the Russians, the Chinese? How about ALL THREE.
