He was a great artist. A true original.

One of my favourite images by him was towers with stairs winding around them and men with vinyl players and wheels instead of legs, wheeling across the image and falling into darkness, I think it was called "His Master's Voice". Also liked his images that got made into a sort of loop pattern.
I was reading one of his Taschen books recently and his colourful crayon/pastel work is under-circulated.

There was quite a number of film projects he was involved with that never got made. Dune, Killer Condoms, and I think there was a Kafka thing too. But I have to say that as much as I liked individual scenes of films he contributed to, I never really had much enthusiasm for any of them as a whole.

RIP
Owe a lot to this guy. Was addicted to drawing aliens after I'd seen the films.
Also, lets not forget his work in the amiga game Darkseed:http://i.imgur.com/2gzU7.gif

“Giger’s work disturbs us, spooks us, because of its enormous evolutionary time span,” Timothy Leary, the psychedelic drug guru and a friend of Mr. Giger’s, once said. “It shows us, all too clearly, where we come from and where we are going.”

The Superego podcast did some awesome parodies of him, but come from a place of love, and thus a fitting tribute to the great man

Is that the same guy from the Andy Daly podcast, August Lindt, doing the giger impression?
